This is my favorite time of late model dirt track racing. No rear ends moving all over the place, no left front tires 3 feet in the air. Just straight racing.
Great post man I was there also. I'm a big Mike Duvall fan. Thanks for sharing that memory my father and I was there he really loved the races and he passed in 2015.
Sorry about your Dad. I still remember the first time my Dad took me to the dirt track races. It left me "Speechless" and #HookedForLife Thank God for Dad.
Great video! brings back a lot of memories of the big G back in the day. I was in the grand stands right behind the flag stand cheering on the Bloomer.
And they talking about lower the cost to race and no they didn't they just made it higher because you can go home and build you a little for 500 horse motor for 3500 when a big ass crate motor cost is 678 Grand and it only puts out 9 to 1 now you got a flat foot and do a whole lot of catch-up
And they are I would rather have an old wedge Noah's car and then a crate motor and in the locust Lucas oil if you ever notice local they race on them big ass tracks with them big ass corners so they don't have to slow down much that's what makes them look faster than a regular car

Everything was better back then Cherokee 1/2 mile WAS is fastest badass dirt track in the south. RIP Bloomer.

Bloomer the baddest mother to ever steer a late model. RIP BLOOMER

TY. Miss the big track, and those "Larger Than Life Personalites" of the drivers of that era.
glad video quality has gotten lot better
Call me stupid but in my opinion the late models back then looked better than they do 2day
100% agree!
Yes they do.
💯 todays cars are so hideous
They need to get back to this look
Agreed
RIP mike duvall
RIP Scott Sexton.
It's so nice to see dirt late models that don't have a jacked up setup.
Today's dirt late models look like a SNL skit running around the track.
ty for upload BJ
Thanks. Appreciate you passing it on. Hope everyone enjoys the interviews on this video. Especially with the Legendary "Flintstone Flyer" Mike Duvall

That place has always been a dust bowl huh.
The pandemic 2019 -21 has killed this track, it's now closed permantly sadly!
Scott who?
Always a sign of a horrible track when the pole sitter wins.
