I live in AZ Mesa police are the absolute worst in the east valley. They actually tried to trespass me from a mcdonalds for picking up a doordash order. While I was leaving and getting in my car. They then proceeded to force me to give ID under threat of arrest so they could officially put me on a trespass warning. I have yet to meet a single officer anywhere who actually understands how trespass works.
This is why cases like this need to go to a jury verdict. Those cases will affect change. When they settle out of court there are stipulations put on the settlement like gag orders. They're always hoping the people will settle to keep it out of the press.
