I always hated sparring girls in class tbh. Unlike the guys, they always seem to go full power and try to take your head off but then the moment you give a good shot back you get told to watch the power. So basically, just stand there and take it.
I actually keep it very controlled it never bothered me. I go enough to where and which they can actually learn something without thinking they can just go all out. I have had two go very hard. One in wrestling and one in kickboxing.

tbh as a girl who did martial arts I can totally say that bc a lot of these sports are male dominated, we’re not really aware they’re available. So when we do participate I guess we feel like we do have to prove ourselves🤷♀️that’s just it sometimes

Even if you fight with your 100%, soon the anatomy will play hands and the man will emerge victor but sure you can atleast give your best shot while you're at it. Even we men have the respectful attitude when we recognise that a certain fighter is better, we don't just jump in to prove ourselves for what we can't do, we throw ourselves into the opponent to assess what we CAN DO as we are now and where we're lacking. Let me tell you my experience: it was my first time in a state level competition and I had a face off against this fighter who was shorter than me but when I saw him streching and warming up, I knew it wouldn't go down easily and had this sense of anxiety. Naturally he ended up winning the fight, he was fast and had good control tho I couldn't beat him, I was proud of some big brain moves that I decisively landed on him that almost had him shook, it was hilarious 😂 In the end, I was a coward and ended up having two insignificant medals: one silver and the other bronze. Tho it's not an achievement worthy enough to brag about, I was just real proud of what little things I achieved off kickboxing and a proper conditioned body that I was gifted with through harsh morning workouts. Even after quitting, I could show off being able to do 50 push-ups on one go but as years passed, I stopped working out and lost the flexibility and the conditioning. And today, as an 18 year old, I can hardly push myself up to 20 push-ups that I often attempt from time to time out of pure boredom and mood swings xD Edit: In short, I just feel like pointing it out that martial sports is not about being a better fighter or being more powerful than the other. It has it's worth more than just simply wanting to dominate another person and "prove" yourself.
We have been taught by our parents, grandparents, and society at large that real men don,t hit women.even in an athletic activity,that teaching is very hard too overcome.
