That is gorgeous. I like this one more than the other one from a few videos ago, and I loved that one. Wondering how long it’s going to be till you do a 1/2 ounce American eagle like this? (Diamond, rubies, sapphires) Like always, best channel in this genre!!
Great video thank you. I just watched the tool video you mentioned but I didn't see it. Where did you get the ring holder you use when you drill, burr, and burnish.
The updated tool list video for this year is on its way hopefully sometime in April. That is when I'll go over all those types of tools. The ring holder and gravers ball came from GRS. They make all sorts of tools like that.
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint Thank you. I was hoping it was something you made. Lol maybe one day I will have the money for the GRS system, but today is not that day,😀 thank you again for your videos. You have helped so many in the coin ring community
I think you mean synthesized sapphires, not simulated XD really enjoyed the vid the finished ring turned out really awesome, I like this motif of adding jewels to coin rings. Just imagine what grandpa would say if he saw that!
Great job Skyler! Sorry if I missed it somewhere...Do you have a list or link for the different inlay tools, bits for stone setting in this video ?.Thanks for your time brother.
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint did you ever make a list of the tools you used? Like what holds the ring while you make the holes, where to get some of the supplies and what size burs you used?
I love what you do, keep it up. Also, there's this video going around on Facebook posted by Guff UK with a different voiceover and they didn't credit your video.
Awesome. Were they shallow sapphires? Did they stick out inside the band any? I tried this once and the stone was too deep and came thru the ring too far where you could feel it against the finger.
You definitely don't want them sticking through the bottom. I measure mine before I start to be sure they have room. These stones were diamond cut which are shallow and easy to set. The smallest ones were gem cut and I bought them by accident. They are deeper and more difficult to set.
I have never collected or even thought much about coins, so I have a stupid question lol when you go an buy coins for ring making are there like lower grade coins that you buy and a different quality coins for collectors? I read a comment on another video about slab coins? If I wanted to start making rings I would not want to destroy a (collector quality ring) . Thanks for any information yo can give. God Bless! Love your videos!
There are definitely different grades. I use some of the best grades for my rings. Usually about uncirculated coins. But I use common dates. I avoid the rare dates. It is easy to do though since they are so expensive!
Can you recommend anywhere in the uk I could pay for this kind of bespoke art? My grandad and I collected coins, he committed suicide and then I found a £5 coin that was specially ordered for me and hidden away. Its been 15 years but I’ve always kept it and the bag it came in with his writing on and I’d like to have something special made with it.🤞 thank you
Inside setting Sapphires so stones are locked in and never fall out. Inside setting you can even solder in the back side of the Sapphires due to solder will not show on the inside. Also Sn solder is low heat and will never affect Sapphire. Yes Ceramic adhesive on Inside setting Sapphires is easy but solder is a stronger Inside setting Sapphires lock. Last Diamond cut on Sapphire is a waste of stone and time due to the reflection of the back side is useless top cut yes bottom Diamond cut on Sapphire almost useless.
Epic ring Skylar! You're definitely an innovator in the coin-ring making business! Keep these videos coming!
Thanks!

Great work and videos! Have you tried using ptfe meant for gas pipe? Yellow packet and its much thicker, less needed! Keep up the good work!
Yes i have! It is nice but the price is more and ends up being cheaper to use the regular stuff with everything considered. I'm cheap :)
Beautiful as always Skyler 👌
About to do some flush setting myself so its been nice to watch your videos on it👊
Woah right on!

What magnification do you work at with your microscope?
hey i’m wondering what that wooden tool you used to hold the ring while you were cleaning up the inside was, great work 👍
Thanks! It's just called a ring clamp. You can get them on rio grandes website.

No it fell through at the last minute. There were insurance issues with open flames lol

They are a bit too small but quarters work!
