I think what the lyrics are saying is that you can celebrate when you succeed. Go out to dinner because you graduated college, for example. To allow your achievements to give you confidence (healthy pride), so that you can use it as fuel to make progress forward! My grandpa died a couple years ago in the hospital... My mom and dad wanted to visit him, but I didn't want to, but I finally decided to go, and I will never regret going, he died a short time after that
I was the same way but I didn’t go in until the last second, I MEAN I HAD TIME I was just scared ( again) so at the last second when we were leaving I went in to hug him ( sadly because my parents told me to not because I wanted to ) and I’ll never for get what he said when he was looking at me .... “ your beautiful “ I never really believed others when they said it as a compliment but He had no time left to lie and now I do believe it ... 3 days later he died and I was at home in Tennessee while my mom and stepdad were in Pennsylvania with him . Sorry for your loss. My Grandma passed away after a stay in hospital. I don’t regret seeing her. I miss my Grandparents dearly, looking back I don’t feel I spent enough time with them. The foolishness of youth I suppose. You believe nothing will change. But my life is so much more enriched for the time I did have.
