I love seeing that you have the GTS to carry you safely finally after the GT (I am in the same situation) but man you do take some chances there riding that tight in downtown NY!
Appreciate it! The GT-S really has that power to safely pull you through traffic. It’s pretty wild! Yeah lol as I said, I don’t recommend riding as aggressively as I ride lol. Sometimes it’s a tad risky. 🤙🏾
This is absolutely just insane bro! Hats off to you for having the stones to ride like Batman in NYC! On a serious note, I’m super jealous and would love to see a video one day where you share how you learned how to ride so well and care free? Maybe a beginner tutorial as well. I had a couple of XR’s over the years and went down pretty hard one time when I first started out on a golf course heading downhill for a tree and just jumped off. Hurt my shoulder but nothing major. Ever since then I’ve been timid to ride. Love to hear your story bro!😎
Interesting. Hadn’t really thought about my ride style other than being maybe slightly aggressive lol. But I appreciate the compliment! I loved the XR, it was a sweet board. I started on the XR and moved my way up to the GT-S Rally. I grew up snowboarding in Colorado and then when I went to college in Baltimore, I totally stopped boarding except for the occasional cruise around the neighborhood on my skateboard. I have always been a huge fan of skating but I was just never good at it. Then I moved to NY for grad school and I saw a couple of dudes riding around Manhattan and so then I started researching the brand and watching videos. But I’d always only see smaller guys and girls on the board. Never any larger people. So I wasn’t really ready to commit purchasing one. A couple of years go by and I moved to Brooklyn and met a dude riding one in my neighborhood. Asked him a few questions and then I said to myself, “screw it, try it out.” And I figured I’d buy used so I’m not investing too much. I lucked out and found a practically new XR. Bought it for like $850 and only had 55 miles on it. And the rest is history lol. The second I got my first ride on the XR was the moment I knew I was hooked. For me, it replicated a very familiar sensation to snowboarding. But I was nowhere near the mountains. It was a little nostalgic Time Machine that brought me to being 16 years old again. I got totally hooked. And 3 years later I’m still riding and now recording footage of my experiences with the board. Onewheel brought me back to my youth and has changed my life for the better. I love these boards. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had my fair share of falls. Especially learning the limits of the board and your own skill limits. I had my XR drop me by my own error of pushing through the pushback. And my GT had something actually happen internally with the electronics. It dropped me mid-ride at 17 mph and I had some gnarly road rash. Definitely scared me and made me timid for getting back on the board. But the freedom sensation I got from riding was too good for me to quit. Sold the broken GT and invested in the GT-S Rally. And now I truly feel like this is the best board they’ve built. It’s so powerful and so capable. It’s helped me build a lot of confidence ripping through traffic and off road on trails. What type of tutorials are you thinking of that might be helpful? Are you talking about like Onewheel 101? Carving, balance and technique? Or do you mean like a how to, on navigating traffic?
@ Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I was thinking not super beginner but more tips and techniques or just your story on how you got confident with your riding and boards? I know making videos is no small task, but I was thinking something raw with you sharing tips on what to do to learn if you had to do it all over again would be cool! Kind of like the videos you do at the skate park where you share your tips on how to do advanced moves.
I’m not sure of my exact speed, I get frustrated trying to record the speed on my iPhone. I somehow always mess it up and it ends up taking away from the ride. - but I typically ride like 20-24mph on street. I’ve gotta push the board to keep up with the flow of traffic.
As a person of size, im curious if you are within weight limit of the one wheel. the 360 camera makes it hard to see ur height and actual size. I really want to get one of these, but my weight has kept me from it.
Hey right on for thinking about joining the float life! 🤙🏾 And thanks for your question! I am a big dude. I’m working on my weight these days. But I started riding the Onewheel XR at 305 lbs and had no problem cruising around the neighborhood and going on group rides. Once I started getting more technical I needed more power. I upgraded to the GT and now I’m riding the GT-S Rally Edition. I’m a major fan of the brand and the GT-S Rally has only increased my love for the sport. I believe that the GT and GT-S are rated at 275 lbs for the max weight limit. Currently I’m fluctuating between 280-290. And my height is 5’5”. I have pretty much zero problems riding because of my weight. I can get over practically anything I want now. It’s great! I’m sure once I lose some more weight I’ll enjoy the board even more! Don’t let your weight hold you back from experiencing the awesomeness of Onewheel. I let it hold me back for a year and a half before making the commitment and buying my first board. Totally worth it and haven’t looked back once.
I was entertained every second, concrete jungle shredding
Dope! Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it! 🙏🏾 Glad you enjoyed my video! 👊🏾
We had Slydog in the past, now we got Tswizzain
What a compliment! He used to make some super sick ride videos!

Dude, I'm afraid to bike on Flatbush. You're a BEAST! Stay safe and Float on
Thanks man! Yeah Flatbush can either be so much fun or just crazy. Some of those drivers get wild. Especially the moped drivers!

THIS IS THE ONE!! Great video. The close calls... sheesh!
I appreciate your support friend! 👊🏾 There’s certainly a danger to riding like this but I have to admit it’s absolutely thrilling!
You’ve inspired me to go on a night ride through dt Lansing tonight! Great video. Gave me the itch to ride for sure!!
Heck yeah, right on dude! Enjoy it and have fun! Just be aware of the leaves. Sometimes at night it’ll cover up a hidden bonk or nudge.
Your videos are DOPE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much for the support! Appreciate your compliment! 🙏🏾👊🏾

@ ah I understand what you’re saying. Okay, cool, I like this idea. Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll try and make something along those lines soon!
Amazing video. Love this kind of content.
Thanks so much! 👊🏾

You giving me anxiety over here. Hahaha. Nice footage.
lol sorry to give you anxiety! I’m all good! Survived the ride lol.
That school bus was a little….snug.
Definitely a lil close!
All your videos make me want to rip nyc but this one hits harder
I appreciate the compliment man! Ripping through traffic is such a blast. Definitely a lil scary at times but so much fun! 🤙🏾
I love the vid and your riding style. Please throw some gear on, I'd hate to see you blow a knee!
I appreciate it! 🙏🏾 Thanks for the reminder. 👊🏾 I definitely need to start wearing some gear!
How fast were you going you be passing cars up

@tswizzain Dang that's fast 😭😭😭
@@Swift_Dinosaurthe GT-S has the speed and power to help push you through traffic safely. It’s just a matter of the rider making good decisions lol. 😬

@@tswizzain thank you
About three minutes in looked uncomfortably tight and crazy to me.
I'm not used to traffic though
lol it was definitely tight!
