Nice that a celebrity who isn't necessarily known for being a gaming fan appreciates the hobby and is willing to express that so openly. There is still a daft stigma around gaming among the older generation. I'm 51 and ever since I saw Space Invaders in the arcade I have been passionate about the hobby - Just put an order in for the new OLED Steamdeck today!
...I did present a gaming documentary, a gaming TV show and a gaming podcast that ran for three years ..
Missile command was my favorite.
I've just purchased an Evercade EXP to play Atari games on cartridges as well as 500+ other retro arcade and home computer games. This Atari console looks stunning though - Have Fun!

They don't make consoles nowadays with a wood vaneer fascia like they did with the 2600. It's plastic all the way now.

Just received mine today. I’m 49 so going back to my childhood. Enjoy playing space Invaders and Pac-Man far more than modern games online. Many thanks for this video to advertise the Atari 2600 +
Very nice does look lovely
The press/influencer presentation box is glorious! As embarrassing as it is to say, the 2600 just isn't my jam, the NES/Master System are really the baseline for console gaming I'd consider still genuinely playable these days in terms of game design and fun factor - but the 2600+ is still a lovely bit of kit and to be commended.
Agree about the NES and Master system. That's about as far back as I can go and still have fun playing the games. I started out with a BBC Model B and then a Spectrum +2 but if I'm honest I get little value other than a few minutes nostalgia out of them now.

Huh, I remember calling into TLNA and saying I had an original 2600 (modded with VGA output) and Iain telling me old computer games were shit.

Terrible console.

Once the nostalgia and novelty wears off it will not be used.
