I live in Perth Australia. Thoroughly enjoyed this episode. In Australia, quality of life is more important than anything else. So all the things revolve around this concept. Shops are open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, except on Thursday when shops are open till 9pm. The reason is even shop keepers have family and want to spend time with family.

Specifically, if employees receive work-related calls after working hours, they should be compensated with extra pay, possibly double their regular hourly rate. This is something we have in the UK, and it works well. I also work in a business where it's easy to be contacted after hours, but our system ensures that if I'm called, I get paid double my usual hourly rate. This not only makes me feel compensated for my time, but it also makes managers think twice before calling unnecessarily.
