I think this may have been made in 1974. That football match at Deepdale could have been on the 28th September as Preston won 5-2 versus Bournemouth as the visitors are clearly wearing green and black striped shirts whereas the home side are in their usual white shirts.
I live in Preston. Preston is a problem that will never be solved. Reckon Nairn would cry about the Guild Hall being mostly disused today, but he wouldn't be surprised by its ongoing traffic flow issues. Councillors have been trying to solve those for over 60 years, but have never succeeded. The latest, desperate plan seems to be making it so inconvenient for cars to enter Preston that drivers just give up and so traffic problems disappear.
Guild hall, very well used venue, wrestling, and snooker. bands. I think I saw my mum, she had a 3/4 length wool coat, shiny shoes with heels. I remember people running across the forecourt of the bus station. maybe one day soon we can share the same channels as self drive vehicles.
Fantastic and most accurate for the time. Today the Harris Museum, Court buildings and general centre would benefit from a much needed makeover. All i see today is decay, high streets department stores closing down only to be replaced with cheap discount stores. Preston is crying out for investment today and a new marketing campaign.
What a lovely guy.
. . . Lots of memories - thank you
Thanks for posting, I love watching Nairn, bit of a ropey recording.

The planners want sacking they have no idea at all.
Still think the bus station is grim, no matter what anyone says.
Look at it now ,ran down and all the cash into the student area .now corporation st is a no drive area!!
I wonder what he would say, if he was to visit today.
preston now is a dystopian mess.
