I am so ready to get out of iOS. Been buying secondhand iphones for close to the last 10 years because I didn't want spend that much on overpriced crap. This was the year I was finally going to buy a new phone, but now I'm 110% sure it's going to be an android.
I got two old phonea out my draw yestaday a i phone 6s and a s5 the iphone stays on for 1.5 hours turns off the old samsung is still on now.. at 17 % but still on 🤷♂️
I have Iphone 11pro max and surprisingly my battery life is at 72% given its age. I am very much looking forward to iphone 18 pro max. Will definitely get 🎉
The main important things is the battery is very good,and that very important battery is 100% full with 3 day or 4 day battery life Excellent Thank you
All phones have gotten so advanced, with so many features, that most people only use a fraction of existing phone's capabilities. Things that really matter to me are: Solid, dependable, long battery life and better quality overall, stronger cases which can withstand drops without damage and also stronger screens which won't scratch. All the other stuff is just yawning material.
I’m still using my 12 Pro max at 90% battery capacity today, 24-2-26, bought it new when first released, only upgrading when no more software updates are available for it ! 😀
I wish they would bring back an iphone with smaller form factor but with full screen with DI. Slightly thicker bezels I don’t mind, like Google Pixel. OLED screen ofc and I know the battery want be great but man do i miss smaller phones. They (iPhone SE 2016) looked great also.
On 13 Pro Max right now. Did not think 17 pro was exciting enough but will get 18 pro when it releases later this year. I know it might not be a huge upgrade from 17, but hopefully the design will be stabilized this year. I hate the orange color of 17 pro as well.
I'm hoping to get the Iphone 18 Pro Max when it comes out. I have the base Iphone 15 that I got on preorder when it came out and I want to finally get an upgrade and I'm loving the idea of these new colors for this year.
I personally love the Dynamic Island, especially for the updates it provides when I am traveling. I'll get the iPhone 17 Pro before Apple increases the weight via the iPhone 18 Pro. It concerns me that the iPhones basically get heavier with each new generation. It is as though Apple is trying to return to old Motorola DynaTAC 8000X type phones 🤦🏽
I am thinking about upgrading my iPhone or MacBook in the fall, and keeping my eye on refurbished MacBooks, I have the 14 pro max and it gets really hot when I’m watching videos and playing games and I am tired of lightening now that everything is USB C, thank you Matt talking about product updates
I have an iphone 11 pro and my battery life is at 80%, so was just curious what the newest iphone models were lookin like.. and after watching this video, I'm just gonna go get a new battery replacement from apple for $80 and keep my phone for another 2-4 more years. My phone still works perfectly fine for my uses, and these new upgrades & "features" don't warrant an upgrade for me tbh, waste of money.
Due to frequent overseas business trips, I currently use the Hong Kong version of the iPhone 16 Pro Max (two physical SIM cards), swapping out physical SIM cards for each country. Since the iPhone 17 switched to eSIM, I have no plans to upgrade my iPhone...
A little sidenote about the camera and the adjustable aperture. I keep hearing channels say its going to be beneficial in low light where you can let in more light, but that´s just not true. The only true benefit on a smartphone camera will be to stop it down to be smaller, to make the aperture opening smaller to get the depth of field deeper, so you get more in focus at the same time. On a proper camera, the sensor is way bigger, and you need the aperture to be adjusted to choose how much you want in focus at the same time, but for these small sensors, that´s not as big of an issue. So on all cameras on smartphones, no aperture means it´s wide open all the time, so you can´t intruduce an adjustable aperture, to get in more light, it´s already at it´s maximum opening. So you can only get less light, and more in focus. Now, what we can hope for is that Apple has chosen a camera with a bigger sensor, and in that sense chosen the adjustable aperture to control how deep the depth of field is. The current sensors are a bit on the smaller side, so they sure could use a bigger sensor. So if they are getting a larger sensor, that will get more light, and narrower depth of field, but the adjustable aperture is not the reason why we get that, if that´s the change, the increased sensor size is. And even if they had chosen just a bigger sensor, and no adjustable aperture, it would be beneficial in low light and for natural bokeh. We will more than likely still have to rely on post processing trickeries to get background blur in our images, with the phone.
