i have been in love with this man's guitar playing for some time now and coming from a man who has been playing for fifteen plus years, this is a hard solo to try to play! just from watching this video (and the extensive knowledge of guitars) have tried and tried to get close and i must say Jalan, you are one in a million sir!
He needs to travel further, more often to expose people to his music. Limited exposure is the only thing that limits the recognition he and his music both deserve.
I love how Jalan "hugs" the guitar like Earl Scruggs did 40 years ago! Great Job Jalan!. All these guys are great! Shaun does an excellent job on bass. Jalan is releasing a single by the way! Should be available this Christmas. Portrait of a Fish.
To follow up here, Portrait of a Fish is INCREDIBLY AMAZING. NO surprise from one of the All-Time greatest musicians and certainly guitarist/banjo players ever to share such a truly remarkable gift.
@jalancrossland , you an inspiration hoss. Just ran in to you. Imma pay a visit if the world don’t implode first. If anything to share a bit of fire water with you maybe a session. @randyhyder Thanks for the upload, Vrey’
Wyoming and it's 49 bitches buddy the real 307 is damn proud of ya country boy keep on picking and grinnin and staying true to your mountain ways brother
I do not think that Jalan wants to "make it" he just wants to have fun making his music.. and he doesn't want to get too far from home.. I do not blame him 1 bit.
He gets to travel where he wants, drink beer, do some picking, meet a bunch of whacked out fans, and gets paid a little to do it...if that isn't "making it" then I don't know what is!
He's the man. I love the mad Carpenter. You can see his wood hammer.
Great players are a sight to behold. Jalan is one of the best I've ever seen.

I keep coming back to this. I have seen Eddie Van Halen live, but this is the most amazing solo ever.
You wonder what he does in his spare time. Man’s a wizard
