Great video for me who has never opened a laptop and a bit nervous to open my mac. Working around computers there were some things I felt were a bit over explained but from the title I'm guessing this is for someone who has no idea about computers so it's all good for me :)
Replaced it on mine early 2015 battery and thermal, now it is much better. Yes I hope too, it will last for next 5 years, because this the last good one. New ones are crap, bad keyboard, everything is soldered inside (can't replace SSD), also I need BootCamp and new M1s seem will not supported it. Thanks for the video.
Excellent video! Just followed this video step by step and was able to service my thermal paste and fan within 45 mins. This is probably the best tutorial for this on RUclips. He even goes over the little details like reminding you to put back the radiator gasket, etc. Subbed!
I appreciate the video! Just completed reapplying the thermal paste, and that with cleaning out the fan and exhaust I haven’t heard the fan since, I’ve had less heat off the MacBook, and I now have better battery life (made better cuz I recently updated the storage to a 1TB NVMe SSD). Wouldn’t have had nearly the level of confidence going into the build without your video, so thank you!
I just opened my Mac and cleaned everything but I don’t have the paste 😕 I didn’t watch your video till the end but did step by step 🤦🏼♂️ Should I order paste and not turn it on my Mac until I apply it?
On the left chip doesn't contact with copper surface.... its below black pipe and there is gap between also black coat is not heat conductive... i think its make more heat what do you think ?
hey brother! what screwdriver type did you use to remove the CPU screws? i was able to take off the lid with a 1.2mm pentalobe, but I need another one for the internal screws. Thanks!
Great video! Was wondering your feelings on laptop cooling pads/fans? I’ve heard mixed opinions saying both good and bad things so I’m not sure what to believe. Are they necessary? Do they help do they just blow more dust into your laptop?
Thanks for the video! My smaller chip to the left of the CPU had no thermal paste or heatsink contact whatsoever! I couldn't believe it. Is that normal? (Edit: yes I've confirmed it is normal, that's the PCH and doesnt produce much heat, connecting it to the heatsink with thermal paste may actually make it run hotter)
The second chiplet next to the cpu doesn't seem to be making contact with the copper heatsink so can probably leave it alone and not apply any thermal paste to it. Otherwise a great guide.
I have mid 14 MBP 13, the heatsink doesn't even cover the gpu part of the chip. The height of the gpu surface doesn't even reach the heat pipe. Mine gpu is a bit fryed now. What a shame Apple!
Thank you for your comment! You are right, there was only a little bit of paste, comming from the cpu. I tried to improve the contact with an extra portion. For now, I think it makes no difference.
Käpsele mate I don’t understand something though? Is the long plate the cpu ? Or the small one ? Or is it the gpu? I’ve got no idea . And by the way I just changed it today and my paste was completely dry! Lol . Now another problem that I have is that my fan just remains at 1200-1300 rpm.. and goes up only when I use lot of power by playing games or programming . MacBook stays at 80+ Celsius
@@O_marchese Amen. Everybody is doing the same mistake in this videos. How do you dare to post a video that could make other person kill their precious machine without making the most basic research beforehand. if the HPC gets too hot it can screw the logic board and you can say goodbye to it. People should be more responsible

Thanks for the video.
your 2015 macbook pro looks a lot better than mine, thanks for the tutorial.
Sadly all my internal screws were corroded and striped so I was unable to remove the heatsink
Thank you. Yes it loosk fine exept you my apple logo. Oh no. Do you know, if water went into your mac?
Great job, Man. Thank you for the presentation. I did my job, let’s try to launch it now

Which adapter did you use for the SSD?
PCI-E x4 M.2 NGFF to SSD adapter card for macbook A1465 A1466 A1398 A1502 ?

Straight to the point. Great video.

Yes you're not supposed to put any paste on the small die.
hey brother! what screwdriver type did you use to remove the CPU screws? i was able to take off the lid with a 1.2mm pentalobe, but I need another one for the internal screws. Thanks!
a T5 bit
Sorry I forgot to mention that. Thank you Callum for helping Marcio out! 👍
Great video! Btw, how do you clean the dust out? Should we use pressurized air or just brush?
For the case: Air
For the fan: I would only use a brush, so you don‘t risk damaging it.
@@kapsele839 Noted. Thanks!
Great presentation (especially remembering to disconnect the battery!), thank you.
Great video! While you're in there, why not quickly pull the cover off the fan and clean it also? 4 screws and 1 connector.
Nicely done, very clean and detailed wotk..Could you also show how to clean the fan of macbook 2015 retina 😍. thank you and God Bless

DO NOT APPLY thermal paste on that so called “GPU.” That’s PCH not GPU like some people are saying…
PCH do not produce as much heat as the CPU
@@twinkieerella oh, thanks for the info! So now that mine is thoroughly heat-pasted it's probably absorbing heat from the CPU and heatsink 🤦🏻♂️
Yes! Do not put paste on the small die!
Great video
Thanks. Will give mine a try hopefully soon
Thanks for the video. Very clear instructions.
What's with the silly band-aids over the Apple logo???
You made this super easy to follow man. Props & thanks 💪🏿
You shouldn't put thermal paste on the left core. It's not supposed to have direct contact with the heatsink...
Thank you buddy you help me alot
Thanks a lot, its really help!

This
im going to try it!
Great video ! Thanks man
Great Video! good explanation, thank you so much!
Thank you!
Good Tutorial thanks a lot!
Thanks for your comment. I'm glad it helped you!
any reason you did not use Noctua NT-H2? or does it make any significant difference on intel icore?
No special reason. It ist relativly cheap und good :)
How was the temp after and before
THANK YOU.
What screwdrivers?
Great video my man! thanks. aloha

Hi, can you change the frame because it has models? thanks
The gpu has no thermal paste when I opened it up yet you still put some there aswell. I don’t think it makes contact with the heat sink

Yes the long plate is the CPU. My macbook is also much quieter and cooler now!
That Is not GPU. There are CPU and hpc / hcp, It Is not a GPU. The thermal paste goes only on the cpu, the long One. The other should be clean

Put play back to 1.5x youre welcome.
speed: 2x
Can we clean it with WD-40 ?
No you should clean it with an alcohol based liquid and no oily liquid.
7:56 "cleaner" ?
So white hands... 😍
anstatt das du einfach deutsch redest aber sonst kein schlechtes video
Danke! Auf Englisch können halt mehr Leute mein Video nutzen :)
