The way Bridget fell as she was leaving the house was heartbreaking. It was like a second "humiliation" after the emotional humiliation she felt when she found out.
Jennifer Finnigan's acting is SO good in these scenes. It's so important to have a strong actor for these kinds of reactions and reveals. Even her physical acting - stumbling and falling on her way out/anxiously closing the shutters in the pool house - is so fluid and believable which makes the viewer feel her pain. Compare it to Adrienne Frantz's clumsy physical acting when Amber stumbled intoxicated into Taylor's home (which took you out of the scene and made you want to laugh instead) and you really see that this kind of thing isn't easy to do and requires real talent.
So true! These episodes, starting with the reveal and continuing through Hope's birth and Bridget's "lndependence Day" are a real tour de force by Jennifer Finnigan. And, as wonderful as it is to see her finally be the center of the storyline, it makes one wonder why she wasn't the focal point _all along._ Instead, we had to endure months of Brooke and Deacon talking about their secret love while Bridget was strangely absent from the storyline or simply being portrayed as a cIueless little girl. I mentioned in an earlier comment that Bridget was almost given the "Becky treatment" in this storyline - a supporting character in a story that should have been told from her point of view. Now, at last, the POV is where it needs to be, and the storyline is suddenly much more compelling.
I agree! I've never been a fan of AF's acting but JF is very talented. Not surprising she got the opportunity to transition to primetime but it was a loss for the show because I don't think Ashley Jones could fill her shoes.

Nice touch by the actress. I mean, I'm not sure how I would act if I heard that my mom talking to my husband about her carrying his baby... But this might be close to it
@@TriniT21The shutters closing was such an effective piece of direction. One, you can see that Bridget is so overwhelmed that she needs to be alone to process this news (hence her yelling at Eric to go away), and any stimulation, even sunlight, would be too much - so the closed shutters are a form of protection. Two, her closing the shutters somehow reminded me of reading about s*xual assault victims who just wanted to be alone and away from everyone, because they felt a sense of shame. Of course this isn’t the same, but Bridget has been violated and humiliated by her own mother and Deacon.

I’ll just echo other posters’ praise for Jennifer Finnegan’s performance. She was so real and raw and good that it was actually uncomfortable to watch, the emotion was that strong. There’s a moment early on in the episode where she flashes back to Brooke talking to Deacon about carrying his baby and she screams, this throttled primal shout of rage and anguish and somehow protest, and it could so easily be over the top in the hands of a lesser actress. But she makes it genuine. JF ultimately got an Emmy for this group of episodes, and it was well deserved. I like that we see the anguish and breaking down of who Bridget was in these episodes, because it’s going to make her evolution and takedown of Brooke and Deacon that much more satisfying. Two small observations. One is re Bridget’s wardrobe. I’d previously observed that the costumers were putting her in more and more youthful, innocent-looking clothing to emphasize her naïveté. Today’s eyelet, simple white cotton frock, complete with unfussy hair and baby-doll pastel makeup, was the pinnacle of that look. It also helps underscore how blindsided she is by everything when she hears the news. Second, note that Bridget yells at Eric not to touch her. In three coming episode, she’ll say the same thing to Brooke and then to Deacon. I previously connected some of Bridget’s behavior to that of an assault victim, and not wanting to be touched is one such symptom. In this case, I think Bridget repeatedly ordering people not to touch her is a nice marker to show how violated she has been by these people.

Bridget does not want to tell her dad yet, but her actions must be a big red signal. Well....this is your mother Bridget...!!!
Ridge and Taylor are beautiful 💗.
Brooke is sincerely the worst.
Kristen your Dad is one of Brooke's puppet hhh also your brother lol
