Same lads cut for us 3 days before you and they are th soundest lads doing it and when they say something they mean it and since getting then in has brought better silage and thats very important
Very well done Adrian, its the walls that create a bid off un avoidable waste, but obviously u need them for health and safety, u hardly a have a barrow of waste there so you can be proud.
Christmas came early! Your honesty was one of the first things that drew me to the channel. It's probably the same for a lot of your fans. Great to see a good outcome from the experiment!
My father said he remembers covering turf or hay with plastic years ago. Always one side worse than other. Probably due to condensation and weather hitting it. Great channel, Niall and father Brendan Mullen 🙂👍
Wow great pit of grass!! FairPlay to the men who gave you the covers for standing by their word!!! Look forward to seeing how it goes further into it!!!
Well done grate to see your pit is so good as you say only farmers will know what it's like opening pit .glad you stopped video for dad that is emportent he knows what anticipating you have good to see pit is good 👍
Well that was worth waiting for Adrian, not even rot on front of silage pit ! Always seen rotting grass in front of pit,, great start to your winter feeding 👍 anyway Merry Christmas and Happy new year to you and yours matey🍻
It is so lovely to see you so happy and so enthusiastic about the job, people don’t understand our pride in what we do! When it isn’t right, it’s like tooth ache or a head ache; it’s in your head hurting for days. Keep going, we all love it. Ps hope the little one is sleeping well. Merry Christmas Adrian, Mrs Adrian and your lovely happy girls. Richard - Brunyee Salers of Dorset.
Adrian happy Christmas to you and your family have a good one, thanks for all the videos over the year looking forward to 2022 and more videos brilliant honest stuff that’s what we like to see here in west Clare ,well done Adrian 🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶
Great looking silage adrian. I have the same problem at 1 side of our pit. I bought L walls a few years ago for the front of the pit. It was the best money I ever spent. No waste whatsoever and safe for rolling. Happy Christmas 👍👍
Perfect video, love factual content and not some of that contrived stuff some RUclipsrs put up. Always love watching your input as it’s always an education of some sort 👍. Onwards & upwards Adrian.
Hello Adrian, a Dutch dairyfarmer here, watch your great video's for about 1,5 year. What silages additives do you use in Ireland. Merry Christmas and a happy new year everyone.
That's absolutely fantastic looking silage, great job! I'm looking forward to seeing what your results of testing it show. What's that old saying? "The proof of the pudding is in the eating." And that's certainly what those fine ladies in the barn will just do!
The pit looks good, as you said risky messing about with a farmer's fodder, people wouldn't realise the cost of a foot deep of rotten silage on a pit 😨.
The pit silage is looking good with minimum wastage. I feel you will get to the bottom of your left handed side pit wall issue. Hoping January tests are good. Wishing you and your whole family circle a lovely Christmas.
Great to see you’re so happy mate. Like to see satisfaction eh! I wonder if there has been some water ingress via the porous concrete? Maybe seal the concrete after water blasting the pit next year? Just speculation mate , but I do know that concrete tends to absorb water over time
I told you so Adrian, I've been using the cling film for 2 years now and swear by it. Only change I'm going to make next year is to try it on the walls. I still have a small bit of waste like you by the walls. I'm still using tyres but will change that in time. I haven't used netting.
Could the reason for that side always having problems be down to the prevailing wind/rain? Or possible the drainage? Can't see what else could cause you to have problems in the same spot year on year
Well done great video very nice looks good 👍 wish you and your family a happy Christmas and thanks for the enjoyment you have given us all year keep it up 🚜
So much fun learning from you and other farmers from around the World. I am a retired dairy farmer from the USA and so many good ideas we do not use here. How many cows do you milk at peak or do you milk year around the same number?Thank you

Honesty......is best...
Looks good, I used Ecosil powder additive and found it made a big difference to the way the face kept good when the silo was opened
Never used that but heard really great things about the results. Always use what works for you, every farm is different. Chers James
@@IFarmWeFarm the cows really thrived on the silage, there very little to clear out from the feed barrier.
Great vid Adrian wishing you and your family very happy Christmas 🎄
Looks fantastic 👍
Wow, that looks as good as round bales haylage.

Yes I would agree with you, that pit was built in 2001 and has never had any sealer put on the walls. I’ll look into that. Cheers mate 👍
@@IFarmWeFarm cheers Adrian. Hey , btw. Have a great Christmas. Enjoy making content mate . Love to see it and listen to your ideas.
No waste now that's good silage
That’s a good pit of silage ours always has rot on the sides, front and the top
Try the Cling Seal on its own, I’m told it’s not expensive
Thanks
Where do you get the cling seal from?
This is my video of our pit ruclips.net/video/vtm_ZJk3s7k/видео.html

You did indeed, thanks for the advise mate 👌👍
Great honest opinion and great silage Adrian. Keep up the good work. Another very enjoyable video. Merry Christmas to ya all. Alan.

So much fun learning from you and other farmers from around the World. I am a retired dairy farmer from the USA and so many good ideas we do not use here. How many cows do you milk at peak or do you milk year around the same number?Thank you
We milk around 50 at peak, we dry of each cows about 8 week before calving. Milk all year round. Thank you 👍
Loader man is the key to good pit silage, nothing will compensate if the pit isn't rolled well.
That’s very true
