Right now "In Times New Roman..." is just on repeat. I did go back and listen to "...Like Clockwork, then "Villains" and then "Times New Roman..." Just to see how the whole trilogy thing played out. It was really dope. This record was surprisingly awesome, and I ALWAYS expect nothing but excellence from QOTSA. I can't stop listening to it. -

All those bands/artists I mentioned earlier, I always buy a copy of the CD and the vinyl too. I've got all their discographies on CD, and some of their full discographies on vinyl. I'm trying to keep my collections up-to-date. Only QOTSA vinyls I don't have are "Songs for the Deaf" and "Lullabies to Paralyze". I have the reissue of the first album on Vinyl, in fact that was my first Queens show, when they toured promoting that re-release with "The Bronze" & the few other tracks that didn't make it on the original release. Now they've re-released the first album with the original tracklist and the ORIGINAL original cover, whIch is EPIC! (The one with the naked chick on the cover) I REALLY want that vinyl, and obviously I gotta get Songs for the Deaf & Lullabies. Back when I first started collecting Queens on vinyl, they hadn't re-released Songs for the Deaf or Lullabies, so that's why I still don't have them. I'm pretty sure they re-released both of 'em 'cause I remember looking for Songs for the Deaf on vinyl and only finding used copies for like HUNDREDS of dollars. Same with Lullabies, and I was like "Well, fuck!". I think I saw both albums on vinyl for like 35-45 bucks on Amazon. That's WAY more doable than it was however many years ago I was trying to find them all. You'll really dig the "...Like Clockwork" & "Villains" LPs. They're all 180gram vinyl, and the cover/gatefold and all that is thick as fuck. There's so much dope-ass artwork in both of 'em. I got two Villains vinyls. One standard, and one that was a limited edition, only a certain number were pressed. It's fucking GORGEOUS. THE "D Side" of the second vinyl doesn't have any music on it, so there are no grooves, it's just shiny as fuck, and has all this rad Villains artwork etched into the actual record. At the time, that was the most impressive thing I'd ever seen on a vinyl record before. They're HEAVY too dude. I know ...Like Clockwork has a fucking book of artwork in the middle and all kinds of cool shit. You'll be very happy with them I assure you. -
*UPDATE: I got my "In Times New Roman..." CD a day or two after I posted my last comment. N I went on Amazon to buy the vinyl, but I realized I didn't have Rated R on Vinyl either, & I had it in my "save for later" section below my "Cart" along with Songs for the Deaf and Lullabies to Paralyze. N when I went to buy the New Roman vinyl, I saw that "Rated R" had gone down in price SUBSTANTIALLY, as did the "ORIGINAL" original cover of the self-titled first LP with the bewbs on the front cover & the totally different font for the band/album name. They had dropped in price so much on both of them that it came down to "Get New Roman, or get Rated R AND the Original self-titled album with the original bewbs cover, and I just couldn't pass that up. So I've already received my original 180 gram vinyl copy of Rated R (The proper, blue album cover, not the red one with the "Rated RX" at the bottom), and the original first album/original bewbs cover vinyl is on it's way. Unfortunately that one wasn't "Prime Eligible", but it should arrive any day now. The seller was in England, and I've bought many vinyls from that same seller and he is/they are a 5 out of 5 Star seller if there ever was one. I can't wait to finally see and hold and own that record. My next vinyl purchase with be New Roman, unless Songs for the Deaf or Lullabies drop in price drastically like what happened with Rated R and the Self-Titled did that day. I kinda hope it does, I've been after Deaf & Lullabies on vinyl for SO MANY YEARS, I don't even know how many years it's been anymore. So glad to be two albums closer to having their entire discography on Vinyl. I gotta complete my collection ASAP... -

After listening to the album so many times, this song was my less fave, I don't know why, it sounds so happy or something. But, sounds amazing live, so raw and powerful, and you can hear with more clarity the guitars on the outro, it really surprises me 😈

To answer why it sounds so happy, they start using Major chords which we associate with happy upbeat goodness. Queens doesn't have this kind of happy sound all the time so it was an excellent switch to show they can still rock the fuck out in happy major chords
SO RAD! Was waiting for this one to come out in a setlist... Reminds me of a WEEN song... Playful yet heartfelt, with a backbone of darkness. Up there with Straightjacket, Time & Place, Carnavoyeur and Sicily as my faves from their best record in a lonnng time.
