Re: Lasik, I have read reports that cells have a tendency to repopulate the interface between the flap and remaining cornea, causing the return of nearsightedness. Greater the correction greater the risk of this happening. Short term pain but it could be argued that PRK is the better choice for long term stability
There is no medical paper states that cell regrow between the flap and remaining cornea, but there are medical proof that in PRK it does not penerate well on high myopia on conea and a number is left often. As well as conea become thin which regression occurs leaving a number after years too.
I had PRK done in October last year and I see 20/15 now 😁 no dry eye, no hazy/double vision. Best decision ever. Even though I actually developed a small infection in my left eye and they had to remove the contact earlier than planned. It healed though and that time of misery was worth a longer time of happiness with my new eyes 👀🙏🏼
PRK recipient here. And Mark is someone to help me decide to get it done all those years ago! I just had my eyes tested for my job again (I drive for a living). I have 20/25 still after 11 years!!! I have a similar experience of when not being hydrated eyes get dry and stick to eyelids and vision is optimal when I am hydrated. My night vision is good. But when I pick up passengers sometimes (I don't still see halos) the contrast between light and dark is really obscured facing a traffic light and on a dark corner though. My friend, listen to what I will tell you. Myopia is an adaptation for near work, the eye grows longer because near work(computer, books) puts light behind the retina, so to avoid ciliary muscle contracting for too long, an anti natural thing, the eye adapts itself, and the back of the eye, where the retina is, grows to where the light is focusing. Had my LASIK 10 years ago. Wondered in here Googling results if anyone had regrets. I see blurrier almost like you said, 10-15 percent, close up and from a far. But not all the time for some reason. There are days when I have 10/10 vision, there are days when it's 8.7/10. And the funny thing is, when I go check them up every 2 years, I have no + nor - and no need for any lenses or contacts which is weird to me, but ok. Dry eyes are pretty standard since they've warned me I had that problem even before the surgery (blond hair, blue eyes, fair skin tend to have drier eyes by default).
Mark Allan it's a permanent, invasive & drastic change. Plz don't tell ppl to do anything so "life changing", instead encourage lots of prior research. So strange how there isn't much reliable info or many reviews on prk.
I get dry eye once in a while, don't strain your eyes it's not really age just straining your eyes, one my aunts is 91 and my other aunt is in her 80s and they have 20/20 so don't believe it's age eyes need a lot of rest. I guess my aunts are not pinned to TV or laptops or any eye stressing. My mom has glasses and she watches a lot of TV. I have had family members that have past away at old age and never had glasses. Just like myself i am 47 and don't need reading glasses but some of my cousins that are younger need reading glasses it's not age just don't stress your eyes it's a muscle.
Fernando Salas the need for reading glasses comes from hardening of the lens in your eye. Lense hardening is age related and has nothing to do with muscles. It’s great if your family has less of a problem with that than others but I’d attribute it to genetics not TV.

Yea how’d it go lol
Yes you can. But i don't. Because i exercise my eyes from 300 drop to 150. Not bad. Because i asked to reduce glasses degree to allow me to exercise more. If keep increase glasses degree will make your eyes worst. I don't trust doctor keep telling me need more power glasses. Now my eyesight is 150 good enough. 300 worst very blur. Yes you can.
Could be age related honestly
From what I hear PRK is usually recommend for people prone to have dry eyes.
Thanks
Where did your wife get her LASIK??
Xavi some place in Vancouver.
Did She Fall in Love with the Laser?
dont burn your cornea
Soooo do you regret getting it?
Mama Dukey nope I’m glad I did it. It’s life changing.
Mark Allan it's a permanent, invasive & drastic change. Plz don't tell ppl to do anything so "life changing", instead encourage lots of prior research. So strange how there isn't much reliable info or many reviews on prk.
What was your prescription before you had the surgery?
Lindsey Maggard sorry I don’t remember.
What was your prescription?
J'ai les yeux secs même 7 ans après l'opération je regrette cette opération catastrophique
Anyone did PRK with eye sight -8
You can never recrate the natural the God has given you. Your eyes will ALWAYS deteriorate after laser eye surgery
So helpful
Why are you recommending something that destroys good eyes?
Roger Jeeves you’re an idiot.
@@MarkAllan Hello brother even I had prk surgery a year ago! I do play a lot of video games and I have a serious doubt bro will the eye power return before we hit 40s. Now I'm 25! Hope you read this reply and comment back.. looking forward to it!! And very good video of prk review!!
I’m getting prk in about two weeks. Do you have any regrets or symptoms you cant stand caused from prk? Also did they use the alcohol to dissolve the cells or cut it ?
So that means your wife can't see at all now without her glasses
Sounds like permanent damage lol
I wish I had never seen this video... PRK has ruined my eyes :(
What happens. Please share
I have double vision on each eye, starburtst halos, ghosting, the sthings on the screen bleed into each other night vision sucks, loss of contrast.. yeah.. i see 20/20 but my vision is trash, I have trouble reading, using the computer, I can't even enjoy a movie or a videogame. :(
How are you now?
@@fazalihtisham4421 Hi, still trying to cope with this. There are some okayish days, some bad days like when I go to the movies or have to go out at night. Thanks for asking :)
@@santiagoblandon3022 how long has it been since the surgery? When did the issues start to show up? Has there been improvements in the last 7 months? Hope you're still able to live a good life despite this
