Lets say you put your foot in touch and went to catch a ball kicked from outside the 22. What would the call be if you didn't catch the ball but it still hit you? Would it still be considered in touch and result in a lineout from the kick? Or would it be the other teams lineout or scrum on depending on where the resulting knockon falls?
