Thank you for speedrunning this, fantastic to watch while I grind away on 100%ing it at my own speed. Warms my heart there’s still some community out there for this game. Hope y’all are doing well on your wasteland adventures and wishing they’d patch a NG+ (never gonna happen though)
I love this game. So atmospheric and crunchy in it's physics. It's amazing how and when you find these exploits. I witnessed when Doom Eternal was dismantled in front of Hugo. He was very poorly acting as unimpressed and deliberately interrupting the speedrunner while he was talking about flaws in the game.
I am glad to see that even speedrunners sometimes get caught on little bullshit quirks of car handling in this game (up to the airport now in the vid). I had to restart the Gastown race about 20 times before I did it reasonably well (:
*sorry for bad english, i'm brazilian i played this game with my dad 5 years ago and it turned into my top 3 favorite game, i hope they make the sequence, it will be amazing
well, I plan on submitting a run to GDQ 2024 sometime this week where I will be explaining everything I do. And that video will of course be uploaded here. Submissions end the 10th of September so I don't have long but expect a more detailed run within that time.
We need the Shovelface and Wild Hunt car bodies for progression. While you can pick Shovelface at the beginning, to acquire the Wild Hunt forces you to go extremely out of the way to pick up the car body. Shovelface is the first car body and the easiest to pick up outside being able to choose from the start.
yes and it’s fantastic, you watch your car go from a frame to a beast and max goes from weak to kitted out, it’s a satisfying progression and the vehicle combat is spectacular
