In this video I race the final stage of the Golden Trail Series regular season in an attempt to move up the world rankings and qualify to the final. This was a 16 mile race with 4000ft of vertical gain, all above 8000ft of altitude. It was certainly a battle out there. #AllieOstrander #GoldenTrailSeries #Nnormal

On the second day of Christmas our Allie gave to us.. two quick poops and a beeeer in the woods.

Fully respect if it's something you don't want to answer, but as a non-runner im trying to work out how you take a mid-race poop. Do you dig a hole? Do you have to carry your tp until you pass a bin? Or is there no tp? That sounds like a nightmare. Or do people just generally accept that a race involves some amount of backwoods pooping and un-buried tp?

Allie - runs 16 mi through the mountains against the best in the world, places 8th, runs more, and then runs a beer mile relay. Allie O, you are something else. I would puke doing a beer mile on a good day.

For some reason all the US women were marked as Swiss. Except Tabor Hemming, who appears to be Columbian. :p This persisted for most of the broadcast, and people were speculating that Allie had given up on Boulder already.
They mentioned this during the commentary, that all of the American women were showing as Swiss, but they could assure us that they hadn’t all moved countries.
Might be some mismatch of US state codes and country codes in GTWS systems. Rachel Tomajczyk, who is probably from Arizona, has a flag of Azerbaijan, which has a two-letter country code of AZ. Not sure about the swiss code (usually CH) though.
@@ondrejsmejkal1525 Allie and Tabor both live in Colorado, but show up as Swiss and Columbian respectively, so seems unlikely to be the only explanation at least.
It was a fun race to watch, as all your races have been. From Mount Marathon to Mammoth, and everything in between, you are the mountain G.O.A.T. 🐐

Hope the stomach issues do not return. Some good in race video glad they shared it with you. The trail looked really good. Men's race finish was so close, some discussion of the final course might be worthwhile.
Remember, JOAN BENOIT had diarrhea when she won the 1984 Olympic marathon, and she kept wiping herself during the race and she never stopped. She won by 1 and 1/2 minutes.
David Roche I believe said he made two poop stops when he broke the Leadville record - must be something the elites train for 😂🏃♂️🏃♂️

Congrats Allie, way to stay strong until the end. Have you thought about trying immodium right after breakfast? Even maurten bicarb is known to cause the runs. I've made immodium part of my race day routine and I combined it with the maurten bicarb without any issue on my last 50K.

I’m not a runner but a couple of friends of mine who do run take two or sometimes three activated charcoal pills about 45 minutes before their race starts. They said it was a tremendous help for gastrointestinal issues. Just thought I’d pass that along to you!

Protip, they send you an amount based on your weight, so give yourself a few (many) extra pounds to get more product, then adjust the dose. The stuff is so expensive :p

I was on the RUclips Live Video about the Mammoth 26k pretty hyped to see your name on place 9 in the women’s race 🔥💪 But I saw the first two women finish and then I switched to another video 🤷♂️ I hope the rest of your race went really well for you and you could overtake some women’s in front of you 🙏🔥💪

You are obviously the expert, not I. But, I find the sweeteners is some of those gel packets are extremely hard on the gut and cause bloaty, gassy feelings, and can cause pooping at the most inconvenient times.
Stevia and xylitol are two they really throw my gut for a loop.

Congratulations! 8th place with two poops...Really, really strong! I don't think most realize the difference of running around 8000 feet of elevation to 10,000 and above where you were, and the energy it takes to actually run or jog uphill, for which you were great!
Ms. Ostrander....from this video the only possible insight I could share, is that after the world championship, you would allocate greater training time to maximize your efficiency regarding the consumption of beer!
Yet again, you are Allie Omazing! One of the best in the world, and always be so proud of that.
Your effort was awesome, especially at 11,000 feet of elevation, and that came from your last 6 months or so of incredibly dedicated training, and lord knows how many uphill miles at elevation, and 400 meter sprints on mile high tracks. Very well done. For your upcoming race, I am confident in my suggestion of not to have Taco Bell as your pre-race meal! Have an amazing and incredible experience. You are so strong, you don't even know how strong you are! Go Allie!

Wow, awesome race! Glad you got some footage during the actual race... I was watching the live stream but they only really showed the top 3. Way to tough it out through some difficult issues. Everything's going to come together for that final race and you are going to absolutely crush it!
