This is an upcoming task that I am not looking forward to.... especially since I'll be doing it under these same less than ideal circumstances, with no much working space. Hats off to you for getting this done!
If you change your clutch, make sure you check for any cracks or wear marks in your flywheel. If there are any cracks or wear or burn marks, you will have to change flywheel.
It’s bolted to the engine. If it drops it’s better because the engine will pivot down enough to give clearance to remove top bellhousing bolts. But the transmission won’t just fall off.
You might not care but i have seen those stands break and down it comes on your body. I would always recommend some old tires and rims to keep the shock off if it fell.
I did it in 3 hours last time, Now I'm remembering that I was a younger man and I had to get done and cleaned up because a pretty girl was waiting on me.
@@kristopherhasenbuhler5393 that is pretty good. I did this 8 months ago and took about 7 hours. One side of the exhaust had to come out. The tranny was about 150Lb and had most difficult time aligning the shifter into the hole.

It's a little cramped, but you got this.
@@cajunlogicdiy Thanks for the vote of confidence Cajun... I'm assembling the parts now, to dive in soon. Thanks again for the pointers.

Dam I was surprised the transmission didn't go down after you took off the cross member. It went down when I did this job to my Ranger.

Omg, you are fucking hilarious! I nearly died when the camera fell over when you were disconnecting the battery lol

“I’m a funky mechanic” 😂😂😂
God bless Dem crazy Cajuns. I've been a Cajun all my life 😂Pontchartrain
Perfectly said
I think my clutch has been slipping now for a few months, will I need to replace/resurface my flywheel?
Do you think I can do this without jacking the truck up? I'm a bit smaller than you
It is possible to do it without jacking up the vehicle, but you will still need a jack to support the transmission. 😁
Gracias. Ojalá hubiera tenido más luz disponible.
You didn't remove the shifter?
Nope, I just mover the tranny far enough straight back to get to the clutch.
@@cajunlogicdiy I am unsure if I believe you or not. I'm not saying you are lying, I just don't know.
The shifter just drops down with the tyranny and shifts forward when the tyranny goes back. It's only moved about 6 inches.
Or, just take it out. I left mine in.
@@cajunlogicdiy ok thanks I'll try it
Bro it's called a crossmember. Not a transmission support bracket
Thank you. I learned that after I made the video.
Dang it. I watched to see how he got top 2 bolts out and he skipped it.
I used a 1/2 inch extension bar
You need a long ass extension.
Come on now if you had z little light going there maybe we could have seen dhar you where doing.
Looks like about 6 hour job to me - easier than most cars as exhaust must come out in the most cars.

I could only see a man working, bad lighting, bad spotlight
Yeah that was my bad. Sorry.
I appreciate it I subscribed hope you're doing well ❤️🏋🏻♀️
Sorry about the crappy video. I was just starting my channel at that time. And, thank you.
Wtf!! cannot even see anything
Yeah sorry about that. It was my first video. Didn't use any lighting.
