Many hotels and resorts have tried to 'block access' to the Klong Prao beach! You have to walk through or besides the hotels because they DO NOT own the beach! Do not be intimidated--once on the beach you can walk the full length of the beach and swim anywhere you wish!
Taxis. You said 100 B but for the locals it’s 80 B. I know because I speak Thai and have Thai friends here. You can’t compare taxi prices between the mainland and island. And to be fair it’s fair for them to charge a little bit more for tourists because they are still recovering from covid and it’s still not a lot more. 40 pence more for a westerner is fair. Places have had to close because of covid and they’re struggling to recover as quickly but it is recovering. If you go to most touristy places for food like white sands you’ll pay a lot but as it’s the most popular but there’s still lots of nice restaurants suitably priced near Lonely Beach and Kai Bay. Can expect to pay 150 B for rice and sweet/sour chicken with cashew. Go to a Thai Ma & Pa’s place like I went to yesterday and we paid 40 B each for a chicken noodle soup. Motorcycle rentals are similarly priced too starting at 200B a day for a basic 50cc or 250B for a 125cc. Deposit consists of your passport or a copy of your passport and 3000 B. I had no problems but if you have an accident, expect to pay for the repairs which could be between 5000-10,000 B. A motorcycle from lonely beach to the complete opposite side (Long beach) will take you about 50 minutes and it’s a beautiful drive. The poor elephants are being addressed by the local authorities but these are on the same numbers as the other hot spots in Thailand. The island is actually perfect for a relaxing time, a few bars around Kai Bai but yes since covid it’s quieter however lonely beach is picking up again and it won’t be long until the bars there are open and busy at 3am like before. Sorry you’ve had a poor experience but it’s unfair for you to report back on this without being fully exposed to the full experience one can have on this beautiful and fun island. I just finished a stay in a massively sociable hostel called ‘Pajamas’. I had a private room there and have been there 6 times. Each time I’ve ended up in a group of 20 of us roughly who have explored the island together and everyone loves it. So I’m sorry but this is a poor report on the island and you should refrain from making reports based on one poor experience which sounds like you haven’t done it right. Especially staying in your own place which will cause a lesser social connection with other people and the island
It is a failed video operated by artificial intelligence, most of the images do not correspond to Koh Chang and even worse, it does not provide useful information for the traveler. The same thing happened to me. Scammer programs

Missing my friends on the island. I will however be back. Koh Chang rocks! 😁👍
👌💐
The Island you showed on number 8 isn't Koh Chang 😂 it's Koh Nang Yuan, wich is not even in the near of.
Check your stock footage 👍🏼
I was gonna say exactly the same thing before I read your comment
True i noticed that too. I was there twice already and it is next to Koh Tao.
Good
nice video but you might want to edit your snorkelling tours stock footage. There are no seals in Koh Chang.
Does this place has a tourist office?
