The speaker can display two color lights on the front. One Green and one White. No one has been able to explain the difference in the two lights however when the light is green the speaker performs phenomenal. When the light is white you hear static and any music source you’re using is disrupted. Does anyone have any idea what the difference between the white light and the green light is because evidently JBL is unaware of that also.
This question haunted me for some weeks, when I saw your message. After a little research with the app, i discovered that Green/White front light are related with BT broadcast, when you pair two JBL Eon One units. Change the settings with the App.

I bought the compact and a JBL 712. The compact Bluetooth paired right away and not successful on the 712 yet. Be aware, the blue tooth IS NOT for streaming, only to control sound from your device. You still need to connect the speakers with a cable.
I wish Bose would put USB on their speakers. I like the idea of just pluging in a USB for continuous music if you want to NOT tie up your device. Plus you can connect any light in the USB as well.
Sadly, there is not a good quality, light speaker with an mp3 player, and for me, a remote control. I have speakers like this, but they are heavy and not top quality. But the set up is so easy as it has a wireless mic too. As a solo singer, I work to backing tracks, and a remote control for me enables me to pause in-between songs etc. I hate too many wires. But there just isn't anything out there.
