No crocs...they are 1500-2000 miles north. This is only about 7 hours drive north of Sydney, Aust. No sharks in creek but potential in ocean of course (like anywhere in the world). Its a typical tranquil seaside spot in new south wales.
I grew up at the end of that beach to the north at South West Rocks. Hat Head waves are first class when on, especially Hungry Head, which is over the hills to the south.
The surf can be exciting if trying to get out of the creek in a boat! The shite won’t be in the waves unless your boat gets rolled! To konradb66 I believe you mean Hungry Gate (camping area) south of Crescent Head, as Hungry Head is at Urunga, another couple of hours north
Post cyclone about a dozen years ago in Feb I surfed it every day for two weeks, perfect offshore conditions from 3’ to 6’+. Busiest day was 16 of us in the water. Same day there was over sixty in the water at Crescent. The only downside it was like surfing In chocolate milk but was awesome.
If you are impatient, please jump to middle of video. Enjoy!

The music and shaky cam drove me away early.
nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
I had to turn the sound off to be able to enjoy the pretty views. That soundtrack is awful and made me feel stressed.
