We continue to keep an eye on your products and love the idea of the JetWash Deflector! The ladder on that 255 FSH looks identical to the one on our 2019 Scarab 215 WAKE Edition. Wondering if you have these in stock, as the ones on your website look to be the original versions without the bracket you mount on the swim ladder? We have the built in factory ballast on our boat (approx. 1000lbs) and will be adding an additional 800lbs ballast bag to the rear swim deck this next season. Hoping that a deflector would also improve the wave shape for surfing. Any updates or information would be greatly appreciated and wondering if you have any experience or knowledge of whether this would work with our Scarab (I know we have the buckets but this seems to mount in a way that there should not be any issues with clearance even if the deflector is slid to one side or the other)?
It is a bit wider than the Yamaha ladder. We were planning to build one for the Scarab but sold the boat prior to testing the design. I am sure it would work great though.
@@JetBoatPilot Would love to try one - are they in stock or any recommendations on alterations we may need to do to make it fit/work if the ladder is a bit wider?
@@scarabjetboat no, we never had the opportunity to build the Scarab version. It could be done now that the Yamaha version is basically ready. We'd have to have the boat in shop for a few weeks to get the dimensions right. We're in Panama City Florida.
@@JetBoatPilot Thanks for the replay! Unfortunately, we are located in the Midwest and would not be available to drop the boat off (if we lived a little closer, we definitely would). If possible, please keep us posted when the product for the Yamaha version is in stock and we may just order one to try it our on our Scarab 215 ladder to see how close the fit is. Thanks again!
do you guys have any video showing people surfing with the deflector? how does it compare to the Gantlin products wake wedge? I have an AR240 with the swim deck back and ski locker bag and the deflector will i be able to surf ropeless?
You can surf ropeless with the deflector. I don't think I have many videos with it installed. check the video labeled Yamaha Surf School. It may be unlisted. If so I can send you the link.
I have the Jetwash deflector for the 21' boat, but it doesn't really deflect a whole lot. I am wondering if there is a larger version like the 24' model that I can use on my 2015 AR210 that will knock down the jet wash better?
The deflector for the 21 footer works really well if you have your ballast setup correctly. If you don't have your ballast setup right the deflector won't do much for you.
Similar in results, but not needed if you have the booster. You really only need one or the other. We like the convenience of being able to allow riders to switch from port to starboard surfing easily and the simplicity of the install.
@@Jdubbbbs we have stock now but are doing some additional quality testing and have held the launch back. This is because this product has been plagued by quality issues and we don't want to have to do another recall if a component fails or even bends a little bit. On the 195 we were able to stack about 1200 lbs of added ballast on the boat and got a great surf wave! I'm not sure on the connext screen. Its been a while since I played with one of those.
I have a 2020 Scarab 255 wake edition. It has built in ballast, and a surf system tab, but we still can’t drop the rope while surfing. Is there anything out there to help the wave on a Scarab boat?
@@matthewraftery4484 Essentially they accomplish a similar result, but they do it in very different ways. I think you will find that either will deliver the results you're looking for if you setup your ballast correctly.
Still waiting on inventory and one final component test this week. We hope to have those parts this week and if all goes well during this next test we may be able to ship this week.
These boats do require a lot of work to make them surf we'll. But the tradeoff is that jet boats are super practical and multi functional so many will accept this level of setup in exchange for all the other various benefits found with jet boat ownership.
I respect Jet BoatPilot, but you do not need to go to the extent they go to in order to surf behind a Yamaha Wake Surf model. And, I do sometimes wonder if they are doing more harm to the brand than helping it. Who wants to lug out 1K pounds of ballast bags along with a fatsac? Answer=hardly anyone. I started out following all of their suggestions on my 242xe. After getting tired of lugging hundreds of pounds of ballast bags onto and off of the boat every trip, having to use my swim lounge area for a 700lb fatsac and making my otherwise beautiful boat look like a homemade physics experiment, I said "screw it" and tried surfing with just the stock ballast and figured out that the stock ballast is enough to surf ropeless.

What are your thoughts on starboard side surfing and using the live well to add weight? Have you tried that?
Yes, starboard side surfing is actually better than port side. The rotation of the impellers gives an assist on that side!
