You have to try the jerk and curries for sure. I lived with a Jamaican woman for 3 years. I should have married her! She was the best cook I've ever known.
Ah, Ann, you are discovering Jamaican food. The rice dish is called stew peas and rice. The rice is usually cooked in coconut water or milk. It varies from cook to cook. Ox tails are so delicious. OMG, I'm getting hungry just writing this. Good vlog, Ann.
Hibiscus juice is incorrect Chilled Hibiscus tea, correct In Jamaica, it is known as chilled sorrel tea. Sorrel tea is made from the dried flower petals of the hibiscus/sorrel plant. It is naturally sour like cranberry or barberries. Small amounts of cane sugar are usually added. You can also add ginger root, cinnamon, or orange peel, too. It can be made using rum for adults. 😊
