I can’t wait to have my own garden. Grew up and was raised in big house with garden with different types of trees, flowers, birds and pigeons. I miss it.
We have some small birds that nest in one of my porch plants every year. Thank you for the detailed info on placement and care as we are thinking of getting houses for the backyard.
Hi Patricia, are you able to make a video like this one but geared toward red cardinals?? Nesting box, site, mounting heights, preferences etc? I recently moved to NC and I’d love to bring them closer to the house. They’re all over around here. I found this video very helpful and realized I need to know these things but about the red cardinal birds. Thank you again
Lots of good advise; however, string/yarn are not good nesting materials b/c it can wrap around the bird and injure or kill it. I had string in a parakeet nesting box and I didn't realize that it was wrapped around the bird's legs and torso until it was too late.
This is neat. My neighbor left a latex Halloween mask hanging up outside and in the spring some birds had nested in it and there were little babies in there. - Heidi
I just moved in the area last year, I don’t have any vegetation in my yard as we just planted some trees but they aren’t big yet. Most of the vegetation is located behind my fence. If I install my cedar bird house facing N/NE/E, it’ll be screwed onto a wooden fence 6ft high, near the vegetation behind me.. will that be ok?

I would like to add birdhouses around our garden but have concerns about about our new bee yard. Will the birds bother them and/or eat them?
