Was never way over the top about the vocal style of this band but they are incredible musicians. RIP Sean Reinert

My man. Traced in air, retraced and carbon based anatomy weremy fav records. Retraced os interesting because you get to hear the songs off that record in a stripped down, clean acoustic form and it really emhanced my appreciation for the originals

Cynic - Textures, instrumental with alot of King Crimson influences

Cynic - Amidst The Coals + Carbon-Based Anatomy = mind blowing journey.

I found Cynic pretty recently as well and, my god, their tunes are just mad good. I would suggest to listen Focus album.

btw i think going further into the world of post metal and experimental metal/post hxc acts like Neurosis, Pelican, Isis, Godflesh may prepare your ears a bit more for what is sure to come in your musical journey with the extreme prog and technical metal acts like Cynic, Atheist, BTBAM, Meshuggah, Imperial Trimumphant, maybe even stuff like Dragged Into Sunlight or peak Emperor.

If you're looking into new bands may I suggest Nug from Ukraine,Pelican is badass and definitely worth checking out. Alcest from France and Deluge which is a post rock/black metal band. Skyforest as well .

I saw Cynic open for Dragonforce back in 2009, of all pairings 😁
Good show, the band Daath was the opener, the Cynic, then headliner Dragonforce.

@@thecentralscrutinizer5730 Haven't watched this yet but if you liked Cynic, Dean, then Unquestionable Presence by Atheist is a must hear! Early At the Gates is really progressive and interesting too (before they ruined the entire extreme metal scene for eternity w Slaughter of the Soul)

Instrumentally great stuff but I could never really get on with the vocals through that vocoder effect.
