I took care of her, loved her, prayed with her, cherished her... every day... till she graduated to heaven. It has been 18 months since and I wish I could be by her side... 1 more day.

I too decided this song was for my daughter as a baby and the song IF I COULD. HOWEVER, flashforward to age 17 my daughter changed so much, I was watching her leaving unfold, as kids do she was growing up. But, she was not including me. I could no longer feel our connection as strong, I could not see any future. I see visions, it was dark no view of her. Turns out she would date a few and leave a few, then met a guy who wasn't worthy, she got pregnant, I was destroyed. My reaction was Tears and upset. She left that day, we have never been the same. This song was how I thought I loved her, how I did, but my reaction to her news showed her, I left her down on her knees, I did not hold her close to me and I didn't show her what I always had, I needed a day to process, she would no longer be my little girl anymore! I knew a baby would take her from me, selfish? Maybe, I loved her so much I just didn't want her to go, all the changes. I was ok after a few days, I wanted to share it all, be a part of it. However, she never forgave me. The baby was the blessing, she is amazing! We are working on it, but when I hear this I know I was not true to my word, I am trying to forgive myself. Today however, I just heard a near death experience and the message I got was THIS IS HOW GOD LOVES US. So I came today to listen with out reliving my mistake, and I know it's all going to be ok!

Recently I moved to a different County after I remarried and although she's an adult now it was very difficult to leave her and her sister behind because I had always been there for the two of them. But with my youngest it was much harder for her to accept the transition of me being so far away. I too decided this song was for my daughter as a baby and the song IF I COULD. HOWEVER, flashforward to age 17 my daughter changed so much, I was watching her leaving unfold, as kids do she was growing up. But, she was not including me. I could no longer feel our connection as strong, I could not see any future. I see visions, it was dark no view of her. Turns out she would date a few and leave a few, then met a guy who wasn't worthy, she got pregnant, I was destroyed. My reaction was Tears and upset. She left that day, we have never been the same. This song was how I thought I loved her, how I did, but my reaction to her news showed her, I left her down on her knees, I did not hold her close to me and I didn't show her what I always had, I needed a day to process, she would no longer be my little girl anymore! I knew a baby would take her from me, selfish? Maybe, I loved her so much I just didn't want her to go, all the changes. I was ok after a few days, I wanted to share it all, be a part of it. However, she never forgave me. The baby was the blessing, she is amazing! We are working on it, but when I hear this I know I was not true to my word, I am trying to forgive myself. Today however, I just heard a near death experience and the message I got was THIS IS HOW GOD LOVES US. So I came today to listen with out reliving my mistake, and I know it's all going to be ok!

LOVE this song. It makes me think of my youngest daughter Kali. She and I have a very special bond. Recently I moved to a different County after I remarried and although she's an adult now it was very difficult to leave her and her sister behind because I had always been there for the two of them. But with my youngest it was much harder for her to accept the transition of me being so far away. I just want her to know that regardless of the distance I will always be there the catch her when she falls, I will always be there to dry her tears when she cries, or just be there to listen when she needs to vent. I believe this song can be interpreted in many different ways but for me it touches my heart and makes me think of my daughter Kali whom I love very, very, much and I am so proud of the young woman she has turned out to be.
