Also RCE proceeding to use 80 pieces of wood at 800$ to avoid using a piece of steel at 450.
Wood is generally cheaper though. It's rare to replace an $800 length of steel with a $680 wood muscle and have it fail.
You found my stretch of really cheap bridges, nice job beating some of them! However, the greatest challenge is yet to come... >:)

The architects who designed that wobble road in the first level must've been smoking the same stuff as the gang in that Mystery Machine van.
I really hope he tries to get on top of the leaderboard for least stress instead of cost.

@Sebastian Thorsen I really wonder how low you could get the stress on some of the levels with larger bridges.
Screw the budget, just go minimal stress.
Bridge: Can hold hundreds of thousands of tons of weight
Also bridge when a tiny 2-ton car falls on it from a height of 2 feet: *broken bridge noises*

As a kid I would have nightmares about bridges breaking just before we got to the end. Watching these videos, I think those nightmares might come back.
There's video from PA of the I-95 collapse. People literally living the nightmare.
Same nightmare/daydream as you but breaks when you’re in the middle (but luckily you used the windy wind to put the window down just before you hit the water) *quick thinking* then you have to pull your family to safety
I had a dream that Stan Marsh from South Park kicked a bridge down as I walked across it

RCE, 14:33 works because it uses the strongest shape not for memes but for actual lifting. An engineering masterpiece.
The trick to the gallery is that you have to click through slowly enough for each page to load before you go on to the next.
I like how this has turned into a "can we beat Tyler?" series.
Seeing the back page of the replays still showing strong engineering principles warms my mechanical engineering heart.
How cool would it have been if Matt used 'The Middle' as his song instead of 'a thousand miles' because it has literally the levels name in its lyrics.
But I am really grateful he still does the songs in polybridge 3, love them!

19:46 You could definitely have improved this bridge if you just added a circular counter weight to the bottom left side, as that would have made it a much stronger shape (the strongest shape, really).

This has probably been recommended many times before, but you should try going for the lowest stress under budget leaderboard, I feel like that one is more engineer-y

If you uncheck Sort By Budget, you'll typically find more expensive bridges mixed in than if you go last page.
Devs have said that reverse sort by budget is coming, and they've expressed interest in adding a [within budget] tag to that.
The game should add the cost of the parts that get destroyed to the scores. Like a 100% penalty to repurchase the lost materials , and to make the score boards more challenging

Oh wow on the Dangling Roads level I also thought I was a genius for trying 1 bridge strats, but I couldn't even pull it off haha.
I ended up getting #17 with a $15,144 dual bridge, which has the dangly alternating wood-road cheeze strats though. :P

since pb2 rce puts his braces on the horizontal side. To "transfer straight" it is the opposite is what my brain says. First bridge you can see how much straight up and down the angle is on the left and works wonderfully, the right side was near flat. Leverage and stress is proportional to the angle, horizontal highest stress. Vertical lowest stress.

Hi Matt! I just wanted to let you know that Tylers new pb3 video is titled a real engineer only needs the tip, and i think it'd be funny if your next bd3 video title would be a play on that. Anyway keep up the content. You probably dont remember but under one of your pb2 videos i expressed how horrible you were at that game, you even replied with 'ouch' i gotta say man, you've come a long ways from that! Who knows, one day you might even become a Real Civil Engineer.

I came to see a Civil Enginner play polybridge, I stayed for the singing.
I am no poly bridge player but if road and other stuff for bridge weight counts than i noticed something that all cheap bridge use too much less wood maybe i think ( truce or trace something) the triangle things that he do to support bridge like make bridge heavy and thats why he fails or its expensive
