Would you be interested in helping us develop our Citrus PRE Wash? I agree we do need to improve our Citrus PRE Wash. But I would like to add some extra information that I think will help, clarify the product we developed. Looking at the range of products you listed in your comments of PRE Washes you like, at least two of them are very high Alkaline Cleaners. These do tend to make better cleaners, but long term are not so great on the protection, paint work, gloss, chrome finishes. What ValetPRO is working at doing is making safe cleaners that will not remove protection on a car and keep the paint surface in good condition and not speed up the oxidisation process that alkaline cleaners do. Citrus PRE Wash is a pH 9.5 and at least two of the products you mention in one of the comments both were pH 14. You should find better performance than seen in your video and its possible that when drawing the cross wetting the surface first reduced the ability of Citrus PRE Wash to push through the grime, Causing a weaker more diluted cleaner at the paint surface thus less than I would expect came off. I did however find your test method interesting and I will use that in product development test. I too agree that honest reviews are very important and that good and bad reviews help companies like ValetPRO get better. If you're interested in being a one of our product development testers please get in contact. Ask for Greg. On other subject someone below also commented on Snow Foam Combo 2 is the product they go to for more cleaning power. This can also be used as a pre wash. Would you be interested in testing that product? being alkaline you will likely find it more like the other cleaners you currently prefer. www.valetpro.global
Thank you Greg. You've raised some very valid points and given me much to think about! I have sent a message separately via the website so hopefully it reaches you 👍🏼

Not like so many others who show using the product and then pay lip service. You as always give a fair & informed view. Well done mate and great to see you back👍
🙌🏼 thank you Martin. I don't see any other way to do it - it's my reputation if I say something is great and people listen only to be disappointed when they use it themselves! Everyone has different experiences but this experience was a very disappointing one for me ☹️
I bought 5 litre of this product on the strength of someone else's review. Unfortunately, my experience was similar to yours so I down-graded it to lightweight tasks. Really appreciate the honesty, especially if it's negative. Brand improve that way.
Absolutely agree with you, too many 'reviewers' out there simply make videos for the brand's benefit so that perhaps they get sent more products to 'test' That being said, ValetPRO contacted me recently (you can see the comments in this video) and we've since had lengthy conversations - this demonstrates that EVERYONE benefits from honest reviewing, even if the experience is negative!
Excellent video mate and a great example of how to review a product and share your findings. Nothing up with a negative review as long as its a true reflection on how the product performed. the second i seen that first rinse at the lower concentration i was thinking this could be a binner haha
I tried to be as fair as possible Dave but, as I always say, the results speak for themselves.. Good or bad!!! I have it every chance but even at 20% it didn't do enough to impress me

Thats the beauty of the car valeting/cleaning business... there is something for everyone and all experiences are different, look at EZ car care - some swear by them whilst I swear at them. Keep up the great content.
Great video! 100% reviews should be honest - that’s why I always say people should take as many POV’s as possible before they make a purchase decision. No buyer should expect that one persons results are totally reflective of a product (unfortunately many do), and no reviewer should think that their experience or opinion is wholly reflective of a product (unfortunately many do)

Well done for showing exactly how poorly that product worked, I will definitely not be buying that. Another great honest review by you, keep up the good work sir 👍🏻
Flipping heck, I got an unopened bottle here. Still to use. But I will give it a go, I always like to give a product a go, especially if I have a bottle in my garage already, I mean in my hand as I watch your video 😂😅😂 I also do understand different PH levels and strengths, I have had irritations from high pH level products before as I use washing mits also, so if this cleans enough of 1st go, it may suffice. Plus mine is an older car, so paint protection is also a concern. Great video thou. 😊

My Scottish ears understood you fine! Glad to see a clear & honest review as I have been trying to figure out which Citrus prewash product would be best. It’s got to be safe on all your car surfaces, preferably LSP safe too and got to be effective and affordable - maybe I am searching for a unicorn product?

The review just needs to be well documented and articulated as it is here but unfortunately that just isnt the case with so many. As for the product iv not used it and certainly wont now i dont imagine. I do wonder if Valet Pro are a little bit out of touch with the current market amd havent kept up.
Thank you Andy, really appreciate the feedback 👍🏼 I can't speak for Valet Pro but I used to enjoy using their acid-free wheel cleaner, Bilberry... Hopefully this product is just a one-off disappointment 🤞🏼

I waited until I'd finished editing this until I'd watched Jon's review and whilst I wouldn't say happy, I was definitely content that he didn't rate this one much higher. The KKD one is excellent - very underrated brand in fact, I use quite a few of their products 👌🏼
This is why people watch and enjoy your channel Mark you gave the product a fair and honest tryout and it failed ,there are much better citrus pre-washes out there ,referring to other comments perhaps you could review some KKD products as I feel they have some great products ,yet very few reviews on RUclips ,you’re still keeping er lit big man ,look forward to the next one 👏👏👏

i think the VP snow foam combo2 cleans much better than citrus pre-wash. personally i use the citrus pre wash at the 2/3rd wash cycle, and combo 2 as the first wash to strip old wax/sealant
Thanks Ray - if you have a system that works for you then definitely stick with it. This one definitely doesn't suit my particular wash methods so it's a big NO from me lol Not saying it's bad, just saying it's not for me 👍🏼
Hello Steve - I would have expected the same... It didn't have to be a 100% clean, contactless wash to make it back on the shelves but it didn't even dent it at the recommended levels 😐 and even at 20% it was mediocre at best! It is a shame because Valet Pro are such a well respected brand but I can only judge each product as I find it!
Nice one Mark, i do love the quick test Tuesday series. I have to be honest, i wasnt expecting it to be that bad but, having seen some other cutrus reviews, I'm not massively surprised. I do need to know what prewash you put on afterwards, to allow you to do a safe contact wash? All the best pal, nice that you're back in full swing.
Well there was another Quick Test Tuesday recorded after that so I won't say too much just yet 🤫😏 but if I was going straight in after wasting time with this, I would be using the A-Kem Caustic Free TFR - even at 40:1 it never lets me down 👍🏼
@@decker0373 they've recently rebranding - formerly known as Anachem Automotive... Been on the channel a couple of times under that name; ruclips.net/video/awydDQ_3iss/видео.html 👍🏼
Thank you. In hindsight, I might have been a little harsh! Don't get me wrong, I wasn't impressed but, based on the products description, I might have been asking too much from it in terms of removing traffic film. Other people (who's opinions I do trust) have told me it does make a really good maintenance cleaner, particularly in summer time... But perhaps not best suited to heavy winter grime!
Great video,i recently purchased some as Paul dolden tried it . Very disappointing product, pored the rest down the drain. Started using mile deep products and they are superb, very handy as he's based 10 minutes from my house lol 😆.
Well I can only go by my own experience and I was bitterly disappointed with it. I too have a few local brands that make fantastic products so I'll be sticking with them for most of my cleaning (outside of reviews of course 😂)
It’s not a strong prewash but a safe prewash & for that kinda of dirty car you actually need a prewash with a degreaser, valet is just for a moderate dirty car
You're not wrong and I've had this discussion with ValetPro, however, this video series isn't about finding the right product for the job in hand, it's about testing products against the claims made on the bottle - this claimed to remove road grime yet even at double the recommended concentration, it had little to no impact. But it will be tested again on something more suited to the products abilities 👍🏼
Fab vid mate 👌 You’d have thought from the colour of it it looked really strong but looks certainly are deceiving aren’t they , was it forensic that said it looked as though they’d added dye to this? 🤔 Cant believe Paul Dolden took money to promote this if it’s as bad as it looks 🤦🏻♂️
It definitely wasn't the colour of any citrus wash I've ever used!!! Jon might well have said that but I'm not 100% sure. As for Paul's videos, I'm not judging what experiences other people had with this, I just know that I found it absolutely useless.
Agreed Used this product as recommended by another You Tuber and very disappointed Having said that there was 3 months grime on your car which may not been fair
I wouldn't have expected it to remove it all, but I would at least expect it to have SOME impact - it did nothing at the recommended dilution (of 1:8!!) And I have products here that can do so much more, even at 1:20.
I bought this today as recommended by guy in my local car parts store I had exactly same experience, it didn’t do anything!!!! I’ve just searched reviews and found this one of yours. Unfortunately I bought 5 litres of the dam stuff ,,,,,
Yeah as you've seen I wasn't exactly impressed! Sadly, if you look at most reviews on RUclips (of most products, not just this) it's just waves of people saying how great everything is 🤷🏻♂️ I'm sure this product has it's uses, but getting heavy dirt/grime off a car just isn't one of them from my experience 🙁
Thank you James. That's a very interesting question tbh. In the winter months I tend to use Anachem Automotive (now A-Kem!) Articulate - that's the non-caustic TFR you mate have seen on the channel before?? It's so effective, even at 1:40 / 1:50, and because it's diluted so much, it's actually gentle on LSP too! As for the summer months - I don't really have a 'Go To' product, mainly because I'm generally always trying to film for RUclips so always using different products!! I've used HDD Road Rage before and made the mistake (like many others have) of using it through a foam lance - which is pretty much pointless!! However, as a pre-wash through a pump sprayer it's an excellent product 👍🏼
@@jamesbartlett5005 anachem-automotive.com/products/articu That's the stuff I mean - they're in the process of rebranding so it might say Anachem or A-Kem if you do get it, same liquid inside lol If you're buying anything on their site, use the code SPARKLEAN10 - it gets 10% of some items but I don't know which... Every little helps and all that 😏
Based on my own experience with it, and it's only my own experience I can use as a reference, pretty much any pre-wash product I've ever used performed better than this! Some people like this product though so I'm not saying it's bad, it just didn't work for me.. At all!
Hello 👋🏼 For out and out cleaning power, A-Kem Automotive ARTICULATE - ruclips.net/video/awydDQ_3iss/видео.htmlsi=1tMGOR0OGEKkI543 For a citrus pre-wash, Autobrite Direct Citrus - www.autobritedirect.co.uk/product/citrus-wash-multi-purpose-cleaner/ For multi-purpose cleaning - www.in2detailing.co.uk/products/garage-therapy-zero-decontamination-shampoo?variant=32633137233999&ghref=3377%3A554508 👍🏼
Very disappointed with performance of this, no way you could go on and do a contact wash after using this wish is a shame from a otherwise good company great vid as always.
Thank you Brian. It is disappointing as they're a very reputable brand - I actually used to use Bilberry wheel cleaner (long before my RUclips days!!) And always found it to be a decent product! Can't all be winners I guess! 😐
Exactly - I'm not here to sell products and can only base it on my own usage. It's not pleasant having to give a bad review but buttering it up and misleading people is even worse as far as I'm concerned.
It may well be useful for other things, but not deep-cleaning/traffic film! The brand themselves have contacted me on the back of this review and asked for my input (minor input at least lol) on other products so at least they're proactive when it comes to honest reviewing 👍🏼
Well it didn't work for me, that's all I'm saying lol I have quite a few that I would recommend and, the majority of them will clean 90%+ of the dirt from the car every time... At this time of year, or if a car hasn't been washed for months and you know there's no protection on there, my go to in those circumstances is Anachem Automotive's Articulate - it's a non-caustic TFR and it works incredibly well, even at a 1:40 dilution .. but I don't use that as a maintenance product although the manufacturer says it's safe to do so - ruclips.net/video/awydDQ_3iss/видео.htmlsi=dNn8ZbKkMM9obndV Others I use and would highly recommend - Autobrite Direct Citrus Wash (probably the one I use most often at the minute for regular cleaning, at around 1:20 dilution) - ruclips.net/video/3YZMw_8xqDE/видео.htmlsi=F3h2p2qC6dXAdqj7 Garage Therapy Decon Shampoo / Snow foam Bilt Hamber AutoFoam AutoGlanz Spritzer I don't actually have specific videos on the last 3 or 4 but they're very good products also 👍🏼
Great video and fair review - I always look forward to these on a Tuesday! Such a shame that you have to put in the pre-emptive rant to the brainless idiots, who can't accept that their experience with products might not match someone else's - the stupid disease seems to be expanding at an exponential rate! However, seems like quite a few people in the comments have had a similar disappointing experience. I'm still working my way through my remaining Bouncers Citrus (which has worked well for me), so there's a while before I need to find an alternative! 😁
I'm so glad that other people recognise I shouldn't have to say these things, but at the same time they, like yourself, completely understand why I feel the need to!! So genuinely thank you!! 🙌🏼 As for this product, well I spent money on it and time to use (& film!) it, so I was bitterly disappointed to say the least. But that's the risk you take when reviewing products I guess... They can't all go back on the shelf 😂👍🏼
Well that's the question.. Because it might as well be £2 for 5L if it doesn't do anything 🤣 as you now know, I don't make videos to promote products, if it's rubbish it goes where rubbish belongs... in the bin!
The nozzle is adjustable - I put it on the narrowest setting for maximum pressure for particular jobs. Maybe I'm misunderstanding but I'm not sure what peace of mind you're referring too??
@@SparkleanAutos I’ve the P60 and that’s the vario nozzle, right? It goes to either 20 or 60 degrees but the general consensus is that 40 is the safest for car paint.
@@MercSLRFan well, I use the P80 and I've used much more powerful commercial machines for years... The 20 degree setting (like anything) is absolutely fine if you know what you're doing 👍🏼👍🏼
Definitely not this one 🤣 I have quite a few that all 'work' tbh, the majority of them will clean 90%+ of the dirt from the car every time... but in a really dire situation e.g. a car with no protection that hasn't been washed for months, my go to in those circumstances is Anachem Automotive's Articulate - it's a non-caustic TFR and it works incredibly well, even at a 1:40 dilution .. but I don't use that as a maintenance product although the manufacturer says it's safe to do so. Notable others I do use - Autobrite Direct Citrus Wash (probably the one is use most often at the minute, at around 1:20 dilution) Garage Therapy Decon Shampoo / Snow foam Bilt Hamber AutoFoam AutoGlanz Spritzer They would be my most common but tbh I have another half a dozen I would reach for that I know would do the job... ... But definitely NOT this one!! Never again
Without sounding like a stupid question, what do you need it for??? What I mean is, will it be just a regular clean on your own car? Valeting various unprotected cars?? Really what works for one might not work for another... They all have their strengths
@@SparkleanAutos yeah so just starting out valeting, common everyday use cars, average customer is working class once every 2 month washes, so nothing to high end, I've atm got a mix of autobright direct and some halfords own bits, so a pre wash and I'm wanting a all in one Interior if it's a thing, saw autoglym does one but I'm nervous of risking using chemicals that can stain the trims ...
AutoGlym stuff is generally safe enough to use, just not always the strongest or cheapest... Unless you're going down the AutoGlym trade route, but then your local rep would be the best person to talk to (if you can find out who it is!) Unfortunately there's no right or wrong product, just trial and error finding what works then buy it in bulk if possible
Definitely not Roy. I don't like having to do it and I certainly don't go out of my way to find products to bin just for the sake of it - it's my money after all - but I can't make something look good if it just doesn't perform!! This wasn't even borderline, it was just poor 👎🏼 On to the next one 😃👍🏼
Useless! I tried the snowfoam yesterday on nextdoors car at a realy strong dilution and that was rubbish too, glad my dad bought it as a gift and not me! I'll be using it as a bit of lube for cleaning wheels
Well you can see how I feel about the citrus so I'm not tempted to try anything else from the range! Surprised how many people on RUclips (and elsewhere!) say how good this stuff is 🤷🏻♂️ Unfortunately for me I did buy it myself and disappointed is an understatement to say the least! Safe to say it's gone now and will never be bought again!
Same experience with it years ago, massively disappointed even on a fairlywell protectedvehicle... KKD Citrus or AGLANZ Spritzer are much better and at lower dilutions... Then there's non-citrus such as the old faithful GT Zero which would have ripped that clean off...
I have at least a dozen products that would've had no issues removing this - at least half of them relatively LSP safe too!! This was beyond disappointing... Money down the drain 😐☹️

Fab vid mate 👌
You’d have thought from the colour of it it looked really strong but looks certainly are deceiving aren’t they , was it forensic that said it looked as though they’d added dye to this? 🤔
Cant believe Paul Dolden took money to promote this if it’s as bad as it looks 🤦🏻♂️
I bought this today as recommended by guy in my local car parts store
I had exactly same experience, it didn’t do anything!!!!
I’ve just searched reviews and found this one of yours.
Unfortunately I bought 5 litres of the dam stuff ,,,,,
Yeah as you've seen I wasn't exactly impressed! Sadly, if you look at most reviews on RUclips (of most products, not just this) it's just waves of people saying how great everything is 🤷🏻♂️
I'm sure this product has it's uses, but getting heavy dirt/grime off a car just isn't one of them from my experience 🙁
How much for 5 litres?

Had the same experience with this unfortunately its just a waste of money and time, thx for the video
Thanks Peter - that seems to be the general consensus anyway!! I'm glad I'm not alone lol
Great review mark . I like hdd road rage as its good value and effective but what pre washes do you use regularly ?
@@SparkleanAutos always good to know what others find successful. Ive never used A Ken so ill get some, cheers.
@@jamesbartlett5005 anachem-automotive.com/products/articu
That's the stuff I mean - they're in the process of rebranding so it might say Anachem or A-Kem if you do get it, same liquid inside lol
If you're buying anything on their site, use the code SPARKLEAN10 - it gets 10% of some items but I don't know which... Every little helps and all that 😏
What product would you recommend to be better than this at removing almost all the dirt stuck on the vehicle?
Based on my own experience with it, and it's only my own experience I can use as a reference, pretty much any pre-wash product I've ever used performed better than this!
Some people like this product though so I'm not saying it's bad, it just didn't work for me..
At all!
Hello Mark which pre wash cleaner is your fav and the best for result ? Thanks
Hello 👋🏼
For out and out cleaning power, A-Kem Automotive ARTICULATE - ruclips.net/video/awydDQ_3iss/видео.htmlsi=1tMGOR0OGEKkI543
For a citrus pre-wash, Autobrite Direct Citrus - www.autobritedirect.co.uk/product/citrus-wash-multi-purpose-cleaner/

Nice to have you back . And least we can understand your accent unlike the Scottish 😂
surprising results but as you say on your experience its not worked and I agree you do need the rough n smooth to make a choice of buying or not
Exactly - I'm not here to sell products and can only base it on my own usage. It's not pleasant having to give a bad review but buttering it up and misleading people is even worse as far as I'm concerned.
@@SparkleanAutos which is why if I'm thinking of getting a product you check as many reviews as you can then take an average view on them
Same results here buddy thought it was shocking
I'm glad it's not just me and plenty of comments seem to agree!! 👍🏼 Cheers Buddy
Makes you think about the ones who rate it doesn't it
@@bigdtailing1950 😶😶😶🌫️
Thanks you just saved me money 👍
It may well be useful for other things, but not deep-cleaning/traffic film! The brand themselves have contacted me on the back of this review and asked for my input (minor input at least lol) on other products so at least they're proactive when it comes to honest reviewing 👍🏼
Hi i was going to buy this product but now im not sure is there a pre wash you would recommend and video? Thanks
Well it didn't work for me, that's all I'm saying lol
I have quite a few that I would recommend and, the majority of them will clean 90%+ of the dirt from the car every time...
At this time of year, or if a car hasn't been washed for months and you know there's no protection on there, my go to in those circumstances is Anachem Automotive's Articulate - it's a non-caustic TFR and it works incredibly well, even at a 1:40 dilution .. but I don't use that as a maintenance product although the manufacturer says it's safe to do so - ruclips.net/video/awydDQ_3iss/видео.htmlsi=dNn8ZbKkMM9obndV
Others I use and would highly recommend -
Autobrite Direct Citrus Wash (probably the one I use most often at the minute for regular cleaning, at around 1:20 dilution) - ruclips.net/video/3YZMw_8xqDE/видео.htmlsi=F3h2p2qC6dXAdqj7
Garage Therapy Decon Shampoo / Snow foam
Bilt Hamber AutoFoam
AutoGlanz Spritzer
I don't actually have specific videos on the last 3 or 4 but they're very good products also 👍🏼
Whats the make of pressure washer your using mate?
Hi Grant - it's the Ava P80 Master. Been using it almost 2 years now and working on a review for it, but I'm very happy with it
Great video and fair review - I always look forward to these on a Tuesday!
As for this product, well I spent money on it and time to use (& film!) it, so I was bitterly disappointed to say the least. But that's the risk you take when reviewing products I guess... They can't all go back on the shelf 😂👍🏼
What is the pa off both??
And what about the mobs which one is the best, I have a dream right now and I stop using the mob
I'm sorry but I don't know what this means?! Have you used Google translate or something?
Jesus Christ that looks disappointing, glad I didn't order 5L of it when I was looking at citrus prewashes. Real shock from VP there 😢
Very much so Ben, very disappointing, especially after seeing a couple of decent reviews 🤷🏻♂️ certainly didn't work for me anyway 😕
Hello, very nice review. Thanks.
Could you please test the TFR by Autoglanz ?
Thank you 👍🏼
Which one would that be?? Only TFR they do that I know of is from the Valet+ range? Is that it??
@@SparkleanAutos Yes it is 😊
I'll keep an eye out for it - I'm a fan of AutoGlanz products based on what have used so far and plan on trying out quite a few more in this series 👍🏼
@@SparkleanAutos the product is very cheap 14 £ for 5 liters 🤪 but is it good, that’s the question 😁
Well that's the question..
Because it might as well be £2 for 5L if it doesn't do anything 🤣 as you now know, I don't make videos to promote products, if it's rubbish it goes where rubbish belongs... in the bin!
Completely agree
👍🏼
Bilt hsmber auto foam for the win
Well it wasn't in the fight but... 🤣👍🏼
20 degree spray on a P80? Would you not buy the dedicated 40 degree nozzle from Ava for peace of mind?
@@SparkleanAutos Fair
Which pre wash do you find works best for you cheers
Definitely not this one 🤣
I have quite a few that all 'work' tbh, the majority of them will clean 90%+ of the dirt from the car every time... but in a really dire situation e.g. a car with no protection that hasn't been washed for months, my go to in those circumstances is Anachem Automotive's Articulate - it's a non-caustic TFR and it works incredibly well, even at a 1:40 dilution .. but I don't use that as a maintenance product although the manufacturer says it's safe to do so.
Notable others I do use -
Autobrite Direct Citrus Wash (probably the one is use most often at the minute, at around 1:20 dilution)
Garage Therapy Decon Shampoo / Snow foam
Bilt Hamber AutoFoam
AutoGlanz Spritzer
They would be my most common but tbh I have another half a dozen I would reach for that I know would do the job...
... But definitely NOT this one!! Never again
@@SparkleanAutos haha cheers much appreciated, been sat for 2 hours doing the research 😞
Unless you're going down the AutoGlym trade route, but then your local rep would be the best person to talk to (if you can find out who it is!)
Unfortunately there's no right or wrong product, just trial and error finding what works then buy it in bulk if possible
Another great honest review and glad you put that product in the bin as it certainly didn’t perform as you or I would have expected 👏👏
Definitely not Roy. I don't like having to do it and I certainly don't go out of my way to find products to bin just for the sake of it - it's my money after all - but I can't make something look good if it just doesn't perform!! This wasn't even borderline, it was just poor 👎🏼
On to the next one 😃👍🏼
Surprised how many people on RUclips (and elsewhere!) say how good this stuff is 🤷🏻♂️
Unfortunately for me I did buy it myself and disappointed is an understatement to say the least! Safe to say it's gone now and will never be bought again!
@@SparkleanAutos try infinty wax products, never tried anything better👊
I too have been disappointed with this pre wash
Well there's more to come very soon here from ValetPRO, maybe they can redeem themselves lol
@Sparklean Autos maybe it was the wrong type of dirt or problematic lacquer 😜

I can now say the same 😂👍🏼
I have used it waste of time and money.

I’ve used this and it’s very poor, best thing to do is put it in the bin waste of money 👍
💯 lesson learned, hopefully this might save others wasting money 👍🏼👍🏼
saved me money, product seems like dog waste
It wasn't ideal for this car in this condition!! 👍🏼
That's not great , I've had better results from lidal apc
Possibly one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a pre-wash product. Not one but impressed
Bottle will be empty soon
Bottle was empty before the end of the video lol
It's crap. I wont waste my money
It's definitely not suited for this type of job!!
