@@ar3sco13 no it isn't it's a musical style not a genre and I know how weird it sounds but it's not hip hop it borrows from American genres yes but it's not hip hop bc 1 that's all about the beats as where reggaeton is about telling a story (usually at a party) about either falling in love with a girl, telling a girl how much your in love with her,heartbreak,confession and/or an apology for heartbreak. 2 Latin trap is a separate genre from reggaeton. Latin trap holds aspects of hip hop such as in the beat,the delivery,the Rhythm,the flow and Latin trap is about street violence,drugs,drugged out hookups etc. 3 Reggaeton is made up by loops of sound and lyric mixture with changes of the loops through different verses where as hip hop is made up of a raw and aggressive but a catchy flow that changes every second, or verse 4 Reggaeton has satisfying mixes and loops of drums and snares that most of the time sync the track while perfectly mixing with the other sounds of the beat where as hip hop has most of the time a horror beat or a dark and gloomy beat which changes and turns every time a flow is switched and it's always a different sound in the beat nothing that started it is usually left in the track and beat.
