A new land cruiser is the ultimate humble brag

It seems that this video was posted before and is no longer available. So I'll repost my original comments as, even watching it again, I had the same reaction as I did 3 months ago when the other version of this was posted.
My original rant (which had quite a number of responses from other subs agreeing with my position) :
As a LC200 owner, I sat here listening and wishing I could have been the third person in the back seat yelling "WHAT" every other minute. Having a 2015 LC200 with now 120,000 miles and compared to owning Land/Range Rovers and (unfortunately) one GMC Suburban (which I can't image you can compare against) I have to agree with the comments and not the video. I can for certain tell you where the money is... it's in my pocket. When I take the LC200 in for service, EVERYTHING is a fraction of what I spent on service for Range Rover, Audi Q7, etc. Comparing to those vehicles, the long term TCO buries the competition. In terms of the GMC or like, the quality of construction and durability are the differentiators. Find a 5-6 year old 120k+ mile GMC and compare panel rust, lasting quality of interior, buttons, and electronics.
The comparison against the Wrangler and Highlander... I don't know where to start. Also owning a Jeep JK, I'm unsure where I would fit 2 adults and 5 children. Since I would need BOTH a Wrangler and a Highlander to get all my people and my stuff on a trip, that $20k costs of "another car" is gone in the fact I'd need them both. Market demographics (size of household, income, age, and the like) will clearly indicate why these are not being shopped against each other (see Imperfect Substitutes in the market theory of Substitute Goods). Other economic indications that would undermine your argument is the simple fact that, at this price, they all sell, every year. If the market wouldn't support it, Toyota wouldn't make or sell it.
If you're buying a dumping a car every 2 years, then it's another conversation and you're not going to be swayed by any musing on value either way. If you're going to have any of the large SUVs beyond warranty and beyond 100k miles, there is no equal. If there were, I'd be driving it today.
I NEVER post comments, but this one has me flummoxed. However typing all this out has been therapeutic.
OTOH, I also appreciate going to a parking lot and not seeing 15-20 of my vehicle in the parking lot. So everyone please ignore me, listen to this video and stay away from the LCs.
And I enjoy your videos and channel... :)

It’s my understanding that Toyota builds these to last at least 20+ years unlike the competition

The body on frame SUV designed for overlanders after it was used as ‘the most competent mall crawler ever’ for ten years.

The money is in the bulletproof features this car has, meaning the engine. Toyota seems to be riding on its reputation to justify the price tag on these.

It seems to be doing so with all their vehicles. Have you cross-checked camry prices with its competitors? Rav 4?

This is my problem with automotive journalists no one is actually looking at a Land cruiser compares it with anything you've said they're looking at a Land cruiser because it lasts forever and they plan to keep it out of warranty.

Range rovers fall apart while you look at them.. the gmc has engine and trans issues that are going you make you hate it.
The land cruiser is a 30 year truck and 500 / 600 thousand miles on the orig engine and trans.
The lexus is the problem.. cause its got nicer features and the same drivetrain and its less..
The highlander is awesome.. but its a much smaller seat and much less width and room.
My money would go to the land cruiser 12 years old. Or the sequoia 8 to ten years old. Not as rugged.. not as strong a frame. Not a solid rear axle. But you can buy a sequoia in a base package that is awesome.
