Brilliant short Annie. So, so relatable to so many of us I think. I struggle so badly with fear after a bad injury, and it's such an uphill battle to get past that fear.
As a young female climber, I can definitely relate! It's always useful to remind myself I'm not the only one who's scared. Great job on this short, definitely watch with headphones!
The sounds are amazing on this. I love the choice to not use any music. It made me really feel like I was there with you. Also the opening shot was pretty sweet especially with your voice came in before the picture.
Nice one Annie! Fear in bouldering outside (and recently sport climbing, eek!) has been one of my biggest hurdles in climbing, but it's one of the things I value most about climbing outside now! Climbing is my constant reminder to appreciate that, despite my fears, I am persevering and that makes me brave. :)
A very well composed video. Love the authencity of the stories. A lot can be put in a short video without making it feel rushed or crowded. Stunning work!!! Love from Finland!
I love this!!! I love women who are passionate about something and will do whatever it takes to realise their dreams!! It's so sad that lots of girls have been taught their body and looks are the only thing about them which hold any value. It makes me so mad, seeing girls everywhere with enormous potential who have had their inner flame destroyed at a young age by a shallow, empty world devoid of compassion, support and appreciation of talent. Go girl!!!!!! 💪😎
Very nice short-film! I can relate so much to the fear when climbing. It is so strange that we can have a passion for a sport that we fear. The best feeling is managing to face the fear and then to suceed. You are so natural and sweet and you inspire me. 🐒
Amazing video Annie! I relate so much, I saw a quote on Instagram which really struck a chord with me, “Sometimes the fear won’t go away, so you’ll have to do it scared” and it applies to so many situations in life
He'll yeah! You killed it. I love this video. I sent my first high boulder just last weekend. My legs were shaking so bad it was crazy. But I pushed through and so did you! It feels awesome doesn't it!? Sick send🤠🤙
i wish i could climb at all, i had to have surgery on my shoulder after an accident and i wont be able to climb for most of this year :(. GL on your recovery!
Nice vid I hope Annie got out for a ride with T-Mo, she’s a legend, most bikers would give their right arm to ride with! Good to see Annie sent it in the end 🤙
love it! reminded me how i felt the first time driving up to the peak, and then so many more times... with my stomach knotted and knees trembling, and how my friends bullied me (in the best of ways) into climbing the crescent arete but i cried on it and nearly threw up. was well happy to do it tho! and i think going back to it after 5 or more years, i'd be scared again... such an interesting look at fear and our relationship with it! much impress Annie :)
Annie, this is your masterpiece up to this day. Love it how it shows a whole different side of you than any of the @Bouldering DabRats videos so far. Amazing work!
Alex is climbing since his was 5 years old and is one of a kind girl in the video has 2 years of climbing experience? What is the point of your comment?
Came here for the rat 🐾😍
Me too! 😃

Salute to everyone, woman and man, who faces their fear.

Fantastic film and climb Annie! Thanks to you and Tom for being accessible and to you for being vulnerable. What a nice short! Keep up the great work!

sound designer here :) this is really great to read, I joined Annie's project due to being a climber myself!
@@robynleonard2558 just seeing your comment a year on. You did an awesome job, congratulations on the award!!

Yes, Annie!! I managed a boulder today which I initially found really scary - that feeling when you realise that you're going to top it is magical.

Very impressive how many stories and perspectives fit into such a short film. I really enjoyed the pacing and audio.
Tracy Moseley is awesome. I remember about 12 years ago watching her race downhill. Absolute beast.
This is a really great work of art! The scenery, the editing, the stories. It's just great! Good luck!
Beautyful short! good storytelling! Lovely to watch!

Brilliant little film - congratulations Annie and crew
LOVED this. So well made Annie, well done!
Love this video! It is really great and so well done.
Getting past fears is an ongoing fight that never ends but is a heck of a journey.

nice little film. so glad you got up Crescent.
ahhh I loved this - ever since I injured my back I’ve been so nervous whilst climbing so this really hits the spot
Same here. I crushed my L1 back in 2011. Low bouldering and top rope are my only real options now.
i wish i could climb at all, i had to have surgery on my shoulder after an accident and i wont be able to climb for most of this year :(. GL on your recovery!
Great film and great send, Annie!
Such an amazing short film !
Unreal! Great lil film 👍

Thank you Zofia! Yes, it's not a climb I would happily do again! Especially with a crew filming it haha! So glad to hear you enjoyed it 😁
Crescent arete is an absolutely amazing climb
This is so good! I wish I could like it more than once. I love the intro to Jenny's bit. And the transition between her and you at 5:35. Very slick!
Wow, good job! Very intense!
Annie what an amazing film!!! ⚡⚡⚡
‘That was quite easy’ 😂 so good 🤟🏻
Absolutely love this!

Well done. I could really relate to this.
Ah Stanage End, Cresent Arete, great boulder problem :)
Quite easy my arse!!! The hardest thing about bouldering is over coming the slab fear!!
Well, that was inspiring...
That was such a great watch! Well done!! And well fuckin' done on the send, Annie.

Mate crescent arete is one of the best boulders ever, even if it's a 5+
