@@mesousagaby740 Jeff gives those S+P teams a gift: past champion's provisional thereby getting an automatic entry into the race and some prize money regardless.
Todd Bodine had legit talent. However, he was so sloppy at times in the cup series. Made a lot of mistakes, pushing a car that probably wasn’t that great.
In addition to McMurray's first win, this was also the last time a Coors Light car would make it to Victory Lane in a points race (I know Sterling Marlin won a Sprint Showdown in 2004, but that was non-points)
After this amazing win watching a driver win in only their 2nd start, I always hoped to see someone pull off the incredible upset of winning in their 1st. It finally happened 21 years later in 2023!
Awesome because this year was the 75th anniversary of NASCAR. Are you binging old NASCAR races like me? I'm watching every race in past seasons started with 1998.
The last scheduled day race for the Cup Series at Charlotte until this year! Glad they moved it to the afternoon this year! Sure to be a more exciting race than the night race with tire degradation being a huge factor!
Dalton G It was Trevor Bayne, but anyone who compares what he did to what McMurray did is foolish. Bayne's was a crapshoot plate race, McMurrays was pure skill outracing former champions

Jamie McMurrey's 1st career win in his 2nd career Winston Cup start driving the # 40 Coors Light car substituting for Sterling Marlin who is injured for the season with a broken neck.
No suspension for Todd; Geoff was in the car because the Busch race at Memphis was rained out and run on Sunday, almost at the same time as the Martinsville 500.
Who wouldve thought metallica would bring us the best intro music to the race and pre race show ever.
The 2001-2004 Days of NBC/TNT were the shit
Alan, Benny and Wally. Never a better team
I think it was unreal that Jamie won a race in only his second cup series start I believe.
One of 2 former drivers to get their first win in their 2nd start in the modern era since '72 alongside Trevor Bayne
Always like how blunt and to the point Jeff Green was. Solid racer to boot.
Shame he's more known as a constant start and paker recently. Its clear that he stopped giving a crap about racing.

Great first win for Jamie Mac. One of my relatives used to race go-karts with him.
What did he think of Jamie Mac?
NASCAR channel should’ve made this a classic race.
36:23 - Allen: "I'd hate to see anybody that gets in there (the grass) today."
2:20:35 - Apparently, Todd Bodine didn't get that memo...

How sad.
Great racing ! Amazing laps 250-255 wish racing was like this more. Consistent side by side hard raxing. Great package back then!

Absolutely! The late 90's and early 2000's were my favorite.
Anyone here rewatching this in 2020 during quarantines?
That was a great flyover The B-52 Stratoforces from the 2nd bomb wing Barksdale Air force base

My very first NASCAR race ever attended. I was 8 years old then
Good race to the end ty
Jamie mcmurray is such a good guy man.
It looks like we missed a hell of a battle for the win, especially someone’s first win. Very weird for broadcasts like this for nascar early 2000s
Better than now

It’s crazy how poorly they drive most of the time. I hear the announcers yell trouble and think to myself “Okay, which Bodine was it?”
