I have binged watched up to now and am so incredibly impressed.
The words craftsman and genius are much overused but, in your case they are not only accurate but too shallow to explain what you are.
It has helped that you are so calm and have humour for us that are imprisoned in our homes, making it more tolerable, thank you both.

Sorry for the late reply, thank you for the kind words good to hear that you enjoyed the vlogs , hope that you won’t be in prisoned much longer. All the best Colin .

I've binged ALL of your episodes Trevor and I just love it! Your owner Colin is an incredibly talented man. I'm assuming, based on the filming, that you don't use a lot of plans. You (Colin) seem to have all the technique and steps in your mind and execute several things all at once- it is just a joy to watch.
Shared on twitter and facebook- so Great!!

This build is shaping up to be one of the very best I have seen. Your attention to detail puts even the best boatbuilders to shame. I only wish I could afford to commission you to build one for me. Your work is incredible! Keep it up, and may you have many years happy boating ahead of you!

All need now is a canopy for the stern and forward end....love the stained glass panels for the port holes.....you might need a cage for the vase as if you. Bang into the side of the cut or lock gates it could go flying....

      @ColinJaquesNarrowboatBuild  3 года назад

Well we have added a pram cover to the boat , not going to have a front cratch cover .As for the vase it’s still in one piece , having had a few heavy knocks .You have obviously binge watched hope you have found it of interest .All the best to you Colin .

If you ever have bow thrusters installed here's an idea for controlling them Have a mechanical/electrical device at the tillers base (above or below decking) so when turning, the bow thruster will assist in a turn, ie: sharper the turn higher the thrust.
Also have a hand grip like a motorcycle throttle for opposite thrust for docking or whenever you need to go sideways (switch on throttle only).
On the hand grip there would also be switches for thrusters on/off, throttle only (overrides tiller assist) and maybe the horn? ;-)

Congratulations on completing the fit out, Colin. She looks lovely. I'm sure that with a coat or six of paint, she'll be as beautiful as her namesake.
Well done to all involved. I'm looking forward to the big reveal in the next video.
    All the best.

So now that you have gotten this far would you ever do it again?

This yard is very well equipped with boat handling gear, much less stress than a wheeled dolly and a forklift.
Absolutely brilliant bit of finishing off although l guess it will never really be finished, will it Colin.
Look forward to the paint element now, oh and did you sort the tiny leak in the "pigeon box" roof hatch?.

steve cooney no the only thing I did think in the early days was wish I had had the sliding hatch longer , but now it Isn’t a problem , we had been on five different hire boats and new what we didn’t-want so it was all quite easy going .glade you have enjoyed it .
