He didnt live up to everyone expectations. However he did what i expected of him. Went from a small club to the biggest club, not used to the big crowds and big moments.. still had a good year, next year will be great, i think he EASILY goes 35+ 2025, or 65+ in the Tom Hawkins medal (goals and assists combined)
Average Supercoach points for the season: Elliott 63.53 Hill 62.70 Schulz 60.75 Mihocek 60.36 McStay 60.20 McCreery 53.88... I'd say he's underperformed from his Freo years but our forward line got hit from pillar to post with injury and he's learning a new system and still outperformed a few of our more notable forwards, he'll be a gun next year, you saw what he did against Brisbane at the end of the year, he's a freak that is also Fly's favourite 'defensive' forward after McCreery.
It’s the trade pick offering that failed! Having said that, I feel the last game against the Dees was an indicator of his strengths. Unfortunately for Schultz, he was asked to play a tall on the wing and other roles that was way out of his lane. With one season under his belt he will be smarter for it and the system. Not a fail but a C+. Room to be a B+ to an A
Not his fault Collingwood gave away a 1st and 2nd round pick for him. I think he did OK, its the Club that paid overs for him. I think he's better than Ginnivan, who's immature, selfish, and is a risk for team cohesion, putting his needs before the team. A good player, a better teammate than Ginnivan, not high risk like Ginnivan, more physical than Ginnivan, can win his own ball better than Ginnivan who's more a receiver and opportunist. But Collingwood definitely paid overs!
@@limitlessclout5037 Whats going to the Races before Grandfinal, thats putting his needs before the team, whats sledging Port Adelaiide, putting his needs to be a smartarse over the needs of the team, I'm glad he's gone, did fuck all in the Grandfinal, wasnt in our best only injuries got him the grandfinal game
I wouldnt say he failed, he just had an average year along with alot of his team mates. He rushed handballs and kicks that lead to alot of turnovers. Lets judge 2025 then youll have your answer if he has faiiled his expectations..
Hey champs, just as an aside, tall forward Curtis Taylor has been delisted from North Melbourne, do you think we should go after him? I think we should.
I think we contiually make excuses for Schultz.... i.e:- he needs to fit into our system, his tackling is elite etc. but l would NEVER give away a 1st. round pick for a permanent half forward. We're stuck with him until 2027 with a performance trigger for 2028. He would need to improve significantly to make his trade worthwhile.
Seems like he was under alot of self-imposed mental pressure this year. He has a great football brain, id be happy to give him a mulligan. Not his fault that Hine trades overs (again)
He failed no less than the entire team failed. Judge him during a successful year. The kid played his heart out. Criticise the trade to get him perhaps, but don't ruin a kid's mental health because you're upset about the trade.
He didn't fail, Collingwood failed in trading for so much for such an average skilled player (at best) I know some people think chasing is some kind of elite skill, but it isn't. Kicking, handball, marks.....even speed is a skill... unfortunately Shultz has none of these. I would trade him out asap....and make room for Richards before he goes to Port....which would be another trade disaster. Now.....bring it on bum chasing lovers.....hahahah!
He didn’t fail - was serviceable and may keep improving - but list management did. With an old list like ours, already with good small forwards, it was completely brain dead to trade a future first for any small - unless it’s Cyril Rioli you just don’t do that. Moreover, we were more in need of a key forward, key defender, or midfielder, so it just didn’t make sense no matter how good Shultz may be.
I'm not convinced that he failed this year but he certainly didn't set the world on fire. The Pies gave up this year's first round draft pick which is an expensive price to pay considering his limited return. I have faith that he will turn it around next year - bit like the way Chris Mayne became a valuable player after his first year disaster.
A counterproductive, verging on silly question. You’re overreacting to his less than stellar season. Lachie made our forward line harder. “Fail” isn’t fair and serves to put pressure on him. He did cost a bit but his drafting has to me scrutinised in the circumstances of the time at which it occurred.
We didn’t need another small forward, so I think the trade is a bust if freo end picking an all time great player. Collingwood are huge push over and give in to the opposition demands so easily.

To put it in perspective Shultz kicked 24 goals , Ginnivan kicked 25 for Hawthorn in the home and away season.

2025 time has arrived for Shultz
Needs a solid preseason
Who’s been good this year asides Nick and Darcy Cameron?
Your man, Ed Allan!
@@PiesFooty he emerged late, can’t say he played a bad game
@@PiesFooty but Lachie Schultz was pretty much a victim of circumstance

Ginnivan isn't selfish at all did you even watch him play at the end of 2023?

I agree Mark. 2025 will paint the larger picture for us!

I think we should.
Hey Melissa! Hmm I think he is medium sized! He is decent!! I’ll have a deeper dive and get back to you 🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@PiesFooty hey champs..thanks for that, I think he could be a good prospect-we could be like Carlton with McKay & Curnow-McStay & Taylor 😊😊👍👍
We might trade him depending on what’s available
I more concerned I want to keep Richard’s and reef
Should play him in back line

Fair call. Let’s see how he fares in 25!

Elliott poor year McCreery poor year no Mcstay most of year injured Mihojek injured half of season JDG poor year that's where your focus needs to be
As a Freo supporter, thanks for the First Round Pick, it was daylight robbery
🤒🤒🤒
First season and a couple of head knocks I'm giving him a pass getting used to the game style but he better lift next year.
Number 4 in tackles in afl inside 50 not all about goals mate
Yes.
Will say he was serviceable this year so yes, but will reserve judgement till we see how he performs in 2025.

Yes a rush ofblood to the head to take Lachie . Error by Graeme Wright and Lipinski a very average pkayer a poor decision
I think he had some really good moments, plenty of others were well below their best, reserve my opinion till after 2025
He did okay in moments but has potential..
maybe he was trying to fit into the team and things didn’t go as well as he hoped it would
Jury is out but ask me in 12 months time 2026 is make or break
Average at best. Worth x2 first round pics, no chance.
