Well to some it’s a tool and to others it’s your livelihood and more importantly an extension of one’s personality and character. One of the best compliments I got was rolling into the TA at Stoney Ridge OH with my 2001 Classic XL as a company driver for Werner with her all dolled up and a driver got on the CB and asked if I was an O/O . I said no to which he said “ Well that rig looks fine driver and if I had you driving one of my trucks I’d never let you leave “. We had coffee and he was an old timer but man I was walking on air after that. Your a credit to this industry Mike and the lads you drive for know that and treating you accordingly.
Should hear them up here is northern Alaska. Sometimes they run all week never shut them down. You think cold in Boston . Try up here -35 to -45 below With few feet of snow
I’m a minute in and this thing looks like a whole other truck. 😍 It’s nuts how much of a look that pinstriping gives it. It’s looks awesome Mike. And what wheel base! Looks good man, good job by all!
A company i drove for for a LONG time switched from hand-painted signage to vinyl graphics. The guy who hand lettered and striped every single piece of equipment was replaced by a computer, and plastics. It bothered me...and ALOT of others. It took a while, but I never did 100% get to appreciate the "new" look. The owners wanted uniformity, which took away from the individualism of trucks AND drivers. Luckily- I always opted for the older trucks and that was fine with me. The younger and newer guys wanted push buttons. I kept the road rangers, hand lettered paint schemes done by a guy who had passion, and retired from there never having to have succumbed to in cab cameras or corporate "stuff".........maybe you'll get used to the back of that cab!
