I tour managed Julie for many years and drove her around the U.K (and especially Ireland) and also organised bookings for her. I'd booked Julie into a venue in Surrey and was about to travel over from my home in Ireland to the gig when I heard the dreadful news of her passing. I was devastated -I'd thought she would go on forever.... She was a wonderful person, and I miss her terribly.
Dylan Thomas's 'And Death Shall Have No Dominion' always comes to mind for me when someone like this wonderful person dies. They still carry on in reality, through their family, their recordings, the feelings they have left within others as they remember the joy they have brought. Her spirit lives on.
Such a beautiful personality. She was extremely pretty in the 1960's and obviously took care of her health well into her 80's. Her guitar playing and clear voice singing were definitely gifts.
Julie's version of "Dirty old town" is just the best, and her album "Clothos Web" is my favourite. Her songs pop into my head all the time and have done since the sixties. Cheers
I miss Julie. Her songs and guitar style was an inspiration to me from 1963.Singing then in "TWTWTW." and a favourite in the "Frost Report."Thank you Julie. R.I.P. ×××
I saw her in Orkney (island of the north coast of Scotland) a couple of years ago and I didn't know she had passed away . I think I fell in love with her all over again .
Cool....I want to see if I can find a video of her playing with John Paul Jones. She hosted a show with Jimmy Page playing way back in 1970. Interesting history she had. Leonard Cohen a great Canadian ...meeting him in Greece....with other artists and poets....could only happen in the 60's. How times have changed....and maybe not for the better.
This goes without saying and that is we are all pretty at one time. I'm 81 but when I was 18 and 19 I wasn't a bad looking fellow. I had a couple of loves that could have been the love of my life but there's always one that stands out. That one is who we think of in our old age!
In Socialism we have to know or find out that greed and envy are cousins - the poor envy and the greedy steel and that’s why Socialism will never work. Rest that on your brain for an hour and you will know.
Don't know that I'd ever heard of her until she died. For my purposes, I could have gone the rest of my life without knowing of her and been quite happy.

I've loved her and her music for some time now.
Can't believe I never knew about her till now, despite being such a fan of sixties folk music. Interesting interview.
OMG! I, as well..... It's like I've been under a stone or in a haze. Such a beautiful songstress; she has a remarkable philosophy of life.

Her voice has darker tones that you don't hear in Joan Baez.

I knew her as a child. Her cousins lived on our street and I would see her there. She was an entertainer even then.
Oh Julie you were so precious.
Thanks for posting this video!
This was recorded in August, and she died 7 months later! She looks so healthy! We just never know, do we?

She is one of my heros. Bless her . And I prefer her version of El Condor Pasa than the Simon and Garfunkle version. And I love Paul Simon.
You prefer it to...

My thoughts go to 'A Mighty Wind'. What came first? Does it matter?

Your on the wrong channel..

Legendary????? If not for Jimmy Page's appearance on her show in 1970, I would have never even heard of her.
Jimmy who?
Jimmy who?
She was famous in England, not here. So the fact that you never heard of her before is meaningless.

Socialism is working all over the place. If you had a brain you would know that.
How is that any different to capitalism?
Don't know that I'd ever heard of her until she died.

and been quite happy.
Or gone the rest of your life without making a snarky comment.
That’s sort of like saying your great-grandmother had no purpose in your life.
