I was at this game, It was a hot day, got sunburned this game.. I remember it was nice to get away from Homestead, we were recovering from Hurricane Andrew and yet still had no power. This was the game were Deion played and left afterwards for the world series . He was so burnt out from the heat that he sat out the baseball game, if I remember correctly.....
I flew into town for this game from the Pacific Northwest. The humidity in Miami is awful especially in the fall. The game was great though and thankful I have this video to remind me of that fun day and getting to see former Oregon Duck Chris Miller. Jim Nantz and Hank Stram. What a great duo. Go Phins. I miss the original Orange Bowl though. My first game there was the 1978 Jets game and Miami lost 24-13 :(. If you have that game I would love it even though they lost.
That loss cost the dolphins the afc East title in 1978. If they win, they host the patriots in the final game that year for the division title with both teams at 11-4
Mike Kenn #78 of the Atlanta Falcons played and started 17 seasons from 1978-1994. He spent his entire career with the Atlanta Falcons after being drafted with the No. 13 pick in the 1978 draft out of Michigan. He started every one of the 251 games he played in over his career. No one has more starting seasons as a tackle in the history of the game. 5x Pro Bowl selection 3x First Team All-Pro 2x Second Team All-Pro 1978 NFL All Rookie Team selection 1981 and 1982 NFC Offensive Lineman of the Year by the NFLPA 1991 "Whizzer" White NFL Man of the Year Here is what some NFL greats have to say... Chris Doleman "He was the prototype at the time. He moved well, great technique. He had great success against some great players. Hall of Famer? Yes, in my opinion."
The Falcons and Dolphins have something of a rivalry stemming from both debuting in 1966 as the first modern pro football teams in the Southeast. While the Falcons were in the NFL from the get-go, the Dolphins played their first four seasons in the AFL, joining the NFL when the leagues merged in 1970. The teams met in their 5th (1970), 15th (1980), 30th (1995), and 40th (2005) anniversary seasons, and will also meet in their 60th anniversary season (2025), and every 20-year interval anniversary after that, barring a change to the scheduling formula.
This is the game that Deion Sanders left the Atlanta Braves, flew down to Miami to play in this game and then went back to Pittsburgh and played in the MLB playoff game the same day.
Here to see Marino wink at Louis Riddick. I think it happens at 1:15 because Riddick said it was one for the early plays in the game when he walked up to press Jackson at the line. You can see Marino looks right at Riddick for a few seconds haha.
Rabah Rayan Nabil El He should be in Canton " Bad Moon " was dangerous on the Falcons and in Kansas City in 1997 as " Spider-Man 😊😊. He was Pro Bowl MVP and 1993 touchdowns co leader. These are the Falcons I remember " 2 legit to quit" Falcons with Glanville.
Of course they didn't also call him " Showtime" on the Falcons and " Spiderman " on the Chiefs for nothing can leave out the rest of the " 2 legit to Quit Falcons like Deion Sanders Tim McKyer Michael Haynes Jessie Tuggle Chris Miller Scott Case Audray Bruce etc. 😊 They were an exciting talented athletic squad in 1990-1992 .
Rabah Rayan Nabil El and off field issues in his 1994 final season with the Falcons and can't forget the " Primetime vs Showtime " Welterweight fight in the Georgia Dome 😁 lol NFL classic moment.
Paul Evereklian He flew to Pittsburgh to help the Braves help clinch the NL title .Tim Mckyer on CBS said " Deion being very selfish" and at the post game he threw a bucket of water on his ass.
