Nice catch!!! Those wild sailfins are beauties. If you google "Atlantic silverside" and "Mummichog" you'll see those 2 fish you guys caught. Lets hope you get a nice male out of the new fry.
Awesome video, there's so much interesting stuff to collect in Florida, whether livebearers, killis or even (invasive) cichlids. I have to admit I died a little when you guys threw back the sheepshead minnows/pupfish (Cyprinodon variegatus) since that's a species I've been looking to add to my own fishroom!
Grew up throwing cast nets in the pasco/hernando canals using sailfin mollies fat belly chubs and the such as bait. Tiger chubs were always a no no and would never get eaten. Can literally catch thousands on 595/aripeka rd on any given day on the out going tide
super cool and it looks like it was fun.
It was a lot of fun. Had a great time. Thanks for watching.
Great video. On my bucket list of things to do. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Mark! I appreciate it.
Awesome! Next time you're down I'll take you collecting in SW Florida
Thanks, I appreciate the offer.

Thanks! Looking forward to seeing how the fry turn out!

Glad you enjoyed the video! Sorry to throw back a fish you are looking for
@@FishTankBarn It was cool to see the habitat of the Cyprinodon, makes me want to book a trip down to try and get some myself...

Nice. I will keep that in mind the next time I’m down there.
So cool... and you answered my question about salinity right at the end :)
Thanks. That seemed to work ok with the mollies.
Sweet 😁 I hope to go collecting in Florida in the future 😊
You should. It’s a lot of fun
@@FishTankBarn it will happen in the next few years for sure 😁
So jealous, hope to get to head south someday and do the same
Sorry to make you jealous. It was a lot of fun. I highly recommend it.
Wow awesome! I would love to do that!! Did you catch any invasives??
Usually have to go a little further south for invasives, also this was a brackish runoff that goes into the Gulf.
No we didn’t catch any invasives. I think a lot the invasives are further south of where we were
Are the mollies native or introduced?
My understanding were those mollies are native
