Hi Chloe, I have severe/mild acne just as you do. I learned recently that it's better to heal your skin's moisture barrier before going in with all the treatments (Vitamin C, retinol, AHA/BHA). I've been focusing more on moisture and healing, and I think it's been helping a lot. Maybe this is something you can try, too? I recommend the Cerave Healing Ointment and the Cocokind Ceramide Serum.

I have mild acne I wash my face with mild face washes and use moisturizer.

Baby girl!! I hope you read this. My brother use to have the most cystic of cystic acne. where he was too embarrassed to make eye contact. We ate lots of dairy as a family..We brought his skin back to life by cutting out cheese with low acidity and cows milk. I’ve noticed your family eats alot of dairy as well..wether it’s sour cream.. shredded cheese blend etc. switch to Swiss, feta Parmesan. You will notice a major change. Dairy increases mucus and inflammation..that’s all acne is over production of mucus leaving your skin through your pores! I hope you read this❤

Objectively “there is no better cheese.” BUT there are certain cheeses that are easier and quicker to digest and purge. Purge through the pores and through the bowels. High inflammation/ mucus = constipation, cystic acne, swollen lymph nodes, abdominal bloating. Switch over to any cheeses that are crumbly or dry in nature, authentic And any cheese that has a pungent or sour taste indicates that it will be easier digest.
My cousin had cystic acne he went to a skin doctor to treat his skin when he was 16 I only have mild acne mostly it’s scars I need to stop picking my face .But my acne isn’t bad lately I been seeing young ladies with acne that is red their faces covered in acne.

Hey Chloe, I used to have bad acne as well and I could never figure out how to fix it until I changed my diet. I cut out sugar, dairy and gluten and my skin immediately cleared up. Now I let myself have sugar and dairy sometimes but no gluten and I eat whole foods mostly. I’m not sure if you’ve ever tried to change your diet for you skin but I know it really helps a ton of people and I know that you do eat those things in excess. Would be worth a try!

Love this video! I struggled with very bad cystic acne for years and it really is so hard bc some days I would feel so confident and others I would feel so hidden by the acne. I worked so hard to never cover it online bc it is so common but I totally get where you are coming from. But hindsight, I look back and think it looked so beautiful. Chloe not sure if you’ve heard of this but you should give skin cycling a try, it really helped with my acne and I have/had very similar acne to you
I think skin cycling is worth a try it really shows results in 2 weeks to a month. I use mostly cerave products for myself

Even though your skin may be oily, in the future you're going to actually love it since oily skin ages well! Your oils will combat wrinkles and you'll look young forever! I had acne like this, I found a routine and learned so much about my skin and skincare. I had and still have oily skin but something you should try is include a hyaluronic acid into your routine. It just hydrates the skin and makes my skin soft I love it. I use the Inkey list hyaluronic acid, it’s cheap and works so well.
