Crunchyroll: "I think I feel like reminding everyone about that moment Luffy failed to save his brother."
Falhou não emmm.... ele fez a parte dele.. mas no final ... deu ruim
Luffy did not fail and he fought to the end to save his brother. Ace literally got himself killed because he was being too prideful and let that bad talk about white beard get to him... He had a decent chance to get away and actually live.
Ace’s stupidity is what got him killed and let people die in vain for him
@@phantomzero1982 Let's not bash Ace now, he sacrificed himself to save Luffy in the end too.
@@lordrimuru2003 Which wouldn’t had happen if he had just escaped with Luffy instead
Even after all these years, this scene still destroys me.
At least Sabo is here to keep Ace's will alive.
Luffy's breakdown after his brother passed away fell in front of him is a cherry on top where you're about to burst with him, such an unforgettable tragedy
Wait a while, there is still time for Sabo to do his thing and follow Ace
@@carloshenrique-xb5bz "SPOILER"
At the end of the latest, new chapter, Sabo has finally made contact with the Revolutionary Army, and I believe he only said, "hey...". It may be a sign that Sabo was not captured after all!
For now...
Lol
One Piece does crying right. Most anime romanticize tears and sadness - character's eyes sparkle as the eye mists up, a few tears drop to the ground. One Piece on the other hand makes the characters cry ugly - the eyes well up in tears, snot and saliva cover their face. Their voices crackle as they try to form a sentence on top of crying their lungs out. Among the sea of things that OP does right, this one is often underrated.

And now crunchyroll is spoiling it for others in the title
Same bro I just finished it I still cried even though I knew what happened
Somehow I wasn't spoiled, but my brother (who doesn't even watch One Piece) got spoiled XD
Guess I'm just lucky
@@GrowingDownUnder you don’t get to call spoilers when something’s been out for a decade lol, it was your choice not to watch it before this starting coming out.
@@meurumtrain4747 you're not very intelligent. The title literally spoiled it in the title...having it spoiled doesn't require watching the video it was literally written in the title. And spoilers are timeless, not all people even watch the anime when it first airs. The date the episode aired is completely irrelevant. Even if a movie is from the 80's like akira...you don't spoil it. A spoiler is a spoiler, clearly you lack the grasp of what a spoiler is. A spoiler is when you give away something about the show a person hasn't seen yet. Many people have not seen it all yet. Have some respect to those people and let them watch it themselves
I think the saddest part of this for me was the mental destruction Luffy goes through. The poor boy has gone through the world's own version of hell to save the his brother, so to have Oda say "SIKE" after making us think he successfully saved him just makes me feel so bad for him... Seeing this just made me want to give him a hug... ;-;
hey you ight
moments later
HE WAS NOT IGHT
Bruh even when Luffy finally freed ace and ace turned around in full flame like "You have never listened to me 😁" then gets killed.
Also to think Luffy has always been there for his crew at their lowest point - yet at _his_ lowest point, his crew is nowhere near and not there for him 💔
It was good to show that loss will happen no matter how strong you think you are. Poor Luffy tho and poor Ace.... how little he thought of himself in his final moments but at least he was loved 😢
Yeah going through hell and death in impel down and barely escape from magellan , then face all the 3 Admirals and other though marines and got 2 times injected by hormones only to stand up and fight and finally free him to see him dying in ur hands
It was quite hard for Luffy the death of his brother, one of the saddest moments, personally Ace did not deserve to die.
well... yes, but it just continued this part of the adventure Luffy was going down: he wasn't strong enough. not for he's friends, not for himself and then.. he's own brother...
Losing a brother was a big hit. When he thought he lost Sabo he thought he lost all of his brothers. But eventually it became a big motivating factor to get stronger to learn under Rayleigh. And look where he is now currently in the anime. He gotten far thanks to Rayleigh and fighting stronger opponents to improve his own strength.
I knew he was gonna die because In Alabasta he did say he’d make White Beard the king even if he didn’t want to be king, & Straw Hat Luffy is suppose to become king not white beard so it’s a no brainer.
This is not really sad because Ace literally got himself killed... He should have run away but he was being way too prideful and ending up dying when he could have had a chance to escape and live.
Yes he did because he was a criminal
The most heartbreaking thing was when Luffy said
“WHERE’S IS ACE”
Screaming in pain and went unconscious
Same with Sabo
The feeling that one of the people you love the most died and you can’t do anything about it + that he just regained his memories in that
Garp was in the middle of saving his step grandson which could get him be targeted by the marines and to keep the promise he made to roger
Or Stay still and see how Luffy and Ace Struggled and seeing he die
This is why marineford is the best arc on one piece change my mind
sabo is alive L
I prefer enies lobby but marineford was good too
SPEAKING FACTS
"This Marineford Arc has been epic, but we all knew how it was going to end. They've saved Ace. If Oda isn't going to get rid of Pell, he isn't getting rid of anyone, unless they're in a flashback. Still curious how he'll manage to deliver an emotional gut punch."
*Oda:* "Poor choice of words..."
A bruh moment in the making
I mean they did technically saved him, but it was Ace who went back to the frying pan and got himself killed
Oda pulled the ultimate move here that set the stage for the next half of the series. Anyone at this point(outside of Luffy's crew) was fair game.
"gut punch" 💀
Mahboi
The way luffy reacted to ace's death was so heartbreaking as no one from his crew was there to comfort him and was on an island where he barely knew anyone except for Hancock
I lost my brother a little over a year ago. This scene hit hard before, but I can't watch it anymore. Losing a sibling is...a unique kind of pain. I wish I didn't understand what Luffy was experiencing and I could go back to a time where this was simply a powerful yet sad moment in the story. Love each other, guys. We are all so very fragile.
I'm so sorry for your loss, man. I hope you and yours are doing well
I lost my sister years before I saw this scene which is why it hit me so hard aside from the fact that I am fond of Luffy and Ace as characters. It hits much harder when you know just how much it hurts.
Oh my goodness, I know it's way after, but I hope you're doing okay, seeing this comment just made me think, that while I'm right here, my siblings are playing in another room and watching this hits as an older sister, but loosing a sibling and watching this... it must just hurt in the worst possible way
I just wanna say I'm sorry for you're loss :(

This felt so real! 😭😭😭💔💔💔💔
That was heart breaking seeing Ace die and Luffy seeing it right in front him even more 💔.
One of the saddest deaths in anime to this day
True.
I still remember the time when this episode was aired on TV. I was sitting on the couch with my brother and we both tried not to make crying noises, tried to suppress our tears, which was not possible, and at the end of the episode we went to our rooms and cried quietly but full of tears.
who was literally sobbing when watching this scene... YOU CANT SAY NO

@@praisepraisepraiseIk I'm a year late, but I was spoiled about Ace's death early on after Alabasta, but when I got to Marineford, I literally thought "It's almost the end of the arc, there's no way Ace will die, maybe the media was trolling about it again like with other things, besides there's not enough time anyway, and they all are running away" and then it happened and I cried so hard I had the one piece snot run and I think that says something 😭

I agree, such a bad idea who ever posted this
@@GrowingDownUnder its been years
@@starchild4627 years since the episode aired, but that's irrelevant because new people start watching one piece every day. You can find this data even on MAL where you click statistics and it will show you who's just recently started watching the hundreds maybe even thousands of new people are watching one piece every year. That's a lot of people who will have it spoiled for them
@@GrowingDownUnder Yeah, however, when it comes to spoilers there is a grace period of time in which spoilers cannot be posted... It's been a few years and the topic itself has been talked tol much already... So, Crunchyroll is on the green about this. New watchers are the ones that are supposed to be more careful about what they scroll through.
Man, it's like walking on crime alley, not knowing about it does not male you exempt from getting mugged.
The more popular an anime is, the more likely it will be on topic, because the people need and want to talk about it. What is considered to be protected under the blanket of spoiler territory, is not bound to their content in itself, but to the release date. Just to give you an example, Avengers Age of Ultron... At this point you can say spoiler warning, but in 2022, that's just a being nice, cuz it doesn't need it. Anobody that has it watch the movie, it's on them.
@@dwemjutsu There's no grace period of time, the grace period is called "never" that's the rule. The forbidden rule of anime club is never spoil the anime. Never doesn't have a time limit, it literally means never spoil it.

This legitimately traumatized me and my gf specifically because of how Luffy breaks. Never in my life do I want to hear him cry like this again.. we miss you Ace.
Still gets me when I see Luffy asking Ace if he's ok, not wanting to believe his brother was dying in his arms.
Having your own brother die right in front of your eyes is the worst possible thing that could ever happen to someone
Luffy was already mentally devastated by the "deaths of his crew" he didn't know that Kuma teleported them away at that point of time so ace's death added even more salt to this wound
Why you gotta do us like that Crunchyroll
What makes this even sadder is how Luffy just breaks out once he falls to the ground. He cries so hard that he makes me want to cry. Not only that, but every anime probably has this. That dang smile every time an important character dies. Every. Single. Time

The Impel Down and Marineford Arcs are Top Ten in all of anime.
THE ONE PIECE..... THE ONE PIECE IS REEEEAAAAAAAALLLLLL !!!
happiest one piece moment
He was so young 😭
I think Ace is so important as a character - not just for the plot, but because of the message this has? A lot of people in the comments here are saying Ace didn't deserve to die, or that it's sad how he could say ANYTHING negative about himself...but the same things apply to all of us, no matter what you think of yourself. It's just so powerful that the One Piece guy who seems to have it all actually thinks he doesn't deserve any of it, but he DOES, and he only sees the truth of it right at the end; he doesn't have to understand that he's loveable, he just needs to know that he's loved, and accept it.
Regardless of all the donut jokes this is one of the saddest deaths of all of anime

Sadnest moment in One piece TT we will always remember you ace
I will say because I don't think anyone is talking about this, the cry Luffy gave in the actual scene after he realized Ace was actually dead and not coming back, that cry was not just sorrow, there was pain and that was the cry of someone who has practically lost everything and was on the verge of giving up. I was upset when I saw Ace die, I still don't think he should've died but I see why Oda killed him off
This scene always breaks me down up to this day. RIP 🔥Ace🔥 😭
