We see how most of the Indians are neglecting their Vedic culture and its teaching by thinking about it as outdated and primitive practice. We are trying to imitate the western culture of materialism. On the other side, westerners are enthusiastically picking up the Vedic way of life. To sum it up we Indians are sitting on the throne of diamonds and begging for pieces of glass.

The major blunder of hindu Society arises from a misinterpretation of the scriptures extolling time bound teachings of smritis to be eternal and thus extol and promote the Varna System as a basis of religion and social status.
From a universal Sanatana Dharma to a deeply bigoted Hinduism , where a person’s social and religious status is decided by birth.,,, is a sad sad degradation…
The Misogyny practised under the name of tradition and culture is also deplorable
These Two challenges have led to a lot of problems
Female Infanticide nad foeticide
The girl child is looked down upon many poor people as well as some very well to do people as being secondary to inferior to a male child
One of the causes of this inherent misogyny is the prevalence of Dowry system…. even in so called progressive india
It becomes an expensive affair to marru of a Girl … and that this “Tradition” reeks of horrendous discrimination

Honor Attacks and killing
This is common especially in very patriarchal states like Haryana. This is a result of rampant misogyny combined by application of Rigid caste restrictions

No this is not an archaic custom… Untouchability is still well and alive openly in rural india and implicitly in other parts, with many villages having demarcated living areas and caste specific water sources.
The dalits may have been rehabilitated to a very small extent by the laws… but hinduism and Caste based discrimination are still more rampant than we think

The true purport of Sanatana Dharma, the vedic way of life is lost of majority of hindus
They know of fasts… but not of self introspections
God is bribed with offerings to fulfil desires
They judge non ritualistic people as being inferior and non religious

Fear motivates… not devotion or gratitude
The many gods are feared and so the belief arises that if rituals are not performed.. something Bad will happen.

Ignorance of the Scriptures
Majority of so called devout hindus are not even aware of the basic tenets of the philosophy underlying their religion.
There may be thousands of gods, but the core belief of one God, Brahman and all other gods being the manifestation of that one god… is a basic awareness which many hindus lack
If you ask them about ramayana or mahabharat or hindu scriptures, the main source of knowledge seems to be television
This has meant that blind faith as become more common than devotional faith

These are all things which can be remedied by understanding the Sanatana Dharma by oneself. The Sanatana Dharma has only one goal… Self knowledge and eternal happiness of the seeker.
There are millions of progressive hindus, but there are many millions more of oppressed and ignorant hindus.
The only solution is to spread the simplicity of Sanatana dharma by words and deeds. Let us accept that there is room for improvement in the hindu society rather than get jingoistic and overtly emotional.
And it is so simple to be a real Hindu… be empathic… be fair and never compromise on Humanity…
Then the thirst for self knowledge will take you all the way to the truth !!!

3:10 , when the man speaks, the background of krishna (standing in style may i add! lol)...gave me goosebumps. The black blue man who 'smiled' through pains...makes me melt. He always smiled through most pains and never lost his childlike innocence even during extreme situations...what a life!
He broke many rigid rules like a revolutionary, he also stuck to many rules like a devout person on the other hand too!, he played and laughed like most religious ppl never do! , ...yet he also respected the same ppl he was against or were friends at the same time. When a saint warned him not to take the thousands of ladies left orphans and that he would be teased forever...he said 'if giving a protective identity of that of 'my wives' and 'sheltering' them will make people of the future insult me and joke about me......so be it!, I can take those insults''. Nobody ever did this, at least not most. The courage is phenomenal. The man who changed the course of history and took in thousands of insults even after his death with a smile.
The man who smiled in pain. That picture behind makes me fold my hands automatically. It is impossible to be like that. There are thousands of things , these are just few! Criticise, insult or praise is no problem for him. THAT is hard!
All that being said so that you know i respect him, I hope , I pray hard that at least these people dont fall into the same trap. What trap u might ask. As for defending when you are in danger, oh god, GO FOR IT. I never said do not defend. Defend and destroy everything if you , your identity, your family is attacked. Also, do everything possible that you dont face threats in future either. But dont hate as a prerequisite when you follow a system (which is what most religions and even atheists do). Dont do it. Dont fall for that 'eternal human trap'. Bring out the fragrance of your beliefs so that you add colour to your belief system, let not ppl say you have reduced the fragrance of your beloved system (that goes for all groups, all belief system and lack of it too).

Majority of so called devout hindus are not even aware of the basic tenets of the philosophy underlying their religion.
There may be thousands of gods, but the core belief of one God, Brahman and all other gods being the manifestation of that one god… is a basic awareness which many hindus lack
If you ask them about ramayana or mahabharat or hindu scriptures, the main source of knowledge seems to be television
This has meant that blind faith as become more common than devotional faith

These are all things which can be remedied by understanding the Sanatana Dharma by oneself. The Sanatana Dharma has only one goal… Self knowledge and eternal happiness of the seeker.
There are millions of progressive hindus, but there are many millions more of oppressed and ignorant hindus.
The only solution is to spread the simplicity of Sanatana dharma by words and deeds. Let us accept that there is room for improvement in the hindu society rather than get jingoistic and overtly emotional.
And it is so simple to be a real Hindu… be empathic… be fair and never compromise on Humanity…
Then the thirst for self knowledge will take you all the way to the truth !!!
