  • Hello.
Today we are in the Pazar district of Rize.
    Have fun watching.
Although there are no clear findings to illuminate any settlement that coincides with the pre-written history of the district's history, it is known that the inhabitants of our region, together with the written history, were generally engaged in animal husbandry and agriculture. It is thought that the region was under the influence of the Hittites between 2000-1200 BC. In the 8th century BC, the sailors of Miletos formed a colony called the "Marketplace". After a while, the region passed into the hands of the Medes and then the Persians.
According to the Trabzon province yearbook dated 1888, the people of Athens town worshiped the pagan god "Antas" and the town's name comes from this pagan god.
One of the Greek Princes came with ships and when they stopped in front of the district, he named it "Athens" because its view from the sea resembled "Athens", a city-state, and it was named Athens.
When Athens came under the sovereignty of the Pontus Kingdom in 150 BC, the Roman Empire in 66 BC, the Eastern Roman Empire in 395 AD, and the Greek Empire of Trebizond in 1204, various Caucasian nations, Laz, Abkhaz and Georgian migrated.
After the Trabzon expedition of Fatih Sultan Mehmet in 1461, Athens passed under Ottoman Turkish rule. After the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, the name of the district from "Athens" was changed to PAZAR.
Pazar is a Black Sea coastline that runs parallel to the coast with high inland mountains. This coast has a moderate climate with hot summers and cool winters. However, it is very wet and humid, with heavy rainfall throughout the year apart from the beginning of summer. It is sunny on average 50 days a year. The Black Sea wind is cold in autumn and wet and humid in summer.
With all these precipitations, the area has a much greener region. More water comes to the region through many streams of rainwater and snowmelt from the Black Sea mountains, including the Pazar River.
This is a hilly region and its main economic activity is tea cultivation. At the same time, there are fishing, trade and tea processing in Pazar district. Tea was planted in the county in 1944 and there are currently three factories in Pazar to process the crop. 65% of the arable land in Pazar is used for growing tea. Before planting tea, citrus fruits and apples were grown. Apart from the trees in the family gardens where people grow vegetables and poultry, there are small areas for planting crops such as tobacco, maize, potatoes and beans.
The soil, which is quite fertile on the coast, loses this feature as you go inland. Due to the abundant rainfall and the 80-90% rough terrain, agricultural products of economic value cannot be grown.
Tea has the biggest share in the trade, which has been very lively since ancient times, followed by leather and timber. The name of the district as "Bazar" comes from the fact that it is the focal point of trade.
All kinds of groceries, textiles, haberdashery, glassware, textiles, as well as vegetables, fruits and herbs are brought from outside the district. Small industrial products such as tea scissors, cable car, churn machine, which meet the most important needs of the local people, are made and used in the district and sent to the surrounding districts. In addition, furniture is very developed in the district. Beautiful furniture, which is created by the fusion of dexterity and taste, is known for its durability.
We will be in Ardeşen in the next episode.
    Don't forget to follow.

Baba başka anne başka memleketten olunca o şekilde ifade ediyor. Peki sen Anavatanını mı söylüyorsun yoksa Babavatanını mı? Bakış açılarına her zaman saygı duyulmalı.
