Welcome home brother, bad interviewer , bad questions and borderline disrespectful. This man is a hero and the person interviewing him was useless let the person being interviewed talk.

First, thanks to the veteran for his service and for telling the story. Regarding the interviewer, I've listened to one of these a night for the past year, so over 300 from many different places. This Cincinnati group is excruciating. It's the only one I heard that goes through this unending details about the history of the family. The very best interviewer that I've heard was from Billings Montana gazette It was a series for their newspaper. But he was a professional. Among the non-professionals, the Atlanta History Center has the best. It's a very nice balance between what were you doing before you went to Vietnam and then the Vietnam story. On the other side of the ledger, the one from New York, I think it is, starts out with what was the highest rank you achieved in the military. What an awful first question! I mean, for the many privates it's like, so I guess you were a loser. And they had nothing of the background of the veteran. But, to the point, If this Cincinnati group is still doing this, please just get a little bit of the history of the veteran and then move on. And in this case, it was excruciating. For God's sakes get a sense of what this guy's going through and move on.

I listen to these in same manner as you, began with Billings then Atlanta... They are the best. This poor man though I felt like it was an interrogation not an interview.

Thank you for your service, awesome strong Man who has lived all these years around people not knowing what’s going through his mind throughout the day because he most likely keeps it to himself. I hope he recovers and lives many more years🇺🇸👍

I don't want to be a wet blanket, but how do you think the man feels if he cant recall those facts? The interview should start with a question like, "before we talk about your military service, would you LIKE to add any details of your life PRIOR to military service? IF the person replies, like what would you like to know?, Then you can LIGHTLY ask about their life until military service.

It is actually quite interesting to hear the stories first of all the interviewer is a clown. Second of all there is the Mississippi river everyone east of the Mississippi River 99.9% of the time goes to Paris Island for training west of the Mississippi you go to San Diego. And he said he was a California marine A West Coast Marine was a Hollywood Marine. I don't think this man was ever in the Marine Corps or serviced in Vietnam. In the Marine Corps you do not break your weapon down the field trip at this man doesn't know what he's talking about the interviewer don't know how to interview. You are disgracing the men that served in the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam.
