Please explain what do you do when you do not have a "known point" at or near the area you want to survey/map?

Hi Nelson! There're several ways to place the base. You can also use the averaging feature or use PPP and PPK techniques to determine the coordinates.
For more information, please check out our docs: docs.emlid.com/reachrs2/rtk-quickstart/placing-the-base/#ways-to-set-the-base.

Hi, when you set up the base, I have to measured the height of the antenna??, the same for the rover

Hi there! If you're setting up base coordinates manually, you need to measure the antenna height offset.
For Reach RS2, the antenna height is the distance between the mark and the bottom of the receiver plus the receiver's height to the antenna reference point (ARP). ARP is equal to 134 mm and automatically added by ReachView 3.
We'd recommend you to check our guide for more information: docs.emlid.com/reachrs2/ppk-quickstart/placing-the-base/#placing-the-base-station-in-the-field.

@@Emlid In the manual it does not provide way to precisely measure the height (h). I believe it is important to explain how to do it in mm precision way and using a systematic procedure (slant height measures is very prone to errors and misalignments).

    What tripod do you use/recommend?

Hi! RS2+ and RS3 has a standard thread, so basically any tripod should work just fine.

What so you mean by a known point seem like you reference to this mean more than just words.
    Please explain

Hi Imi, it’s a point with known geographical coordinates. It may be a trig point, a survey marker, or a reference point on the site.
