Scott Cawthon himself also said MatPat was correct about the 1983 VS 1987 stuff and a less known fact is that the "87" in the source code was actually changed to an "83" only a few days before release :)
The bite of 87 was when Mangle bit the frontal lobe of Jeremy right? People argue whether it's Mangle or Bonnie, but I believe Mangle because they jumpscare at the ceiling near the head. There's a lot more lore I could explain about 87 but I'm wanting to make sure I'm correct.

I like to think the community made a big deal about the bite of 87 as a huge lore question but in reality scott just included it in the first game as a bit of funny banter about how little the fazbear company cares about safety
he even joked that Bouncepot from fnaf world did the bite of 87
"The bite that happened 4 years after the other bite is a completely different bite."
The story is great, but because people played it as kids everyone has their own head cannon plus the creator left it very open ended to keep it going. The fnaf community can’t even agree on dates, who did what, and to who.
I didn’t play it, wasn’t into it, watched Wendigoons video and I have to agree, the story is good, and axing children for them to possess things is a cool idea that’s rarely done. Because it’s kids getting axed.

They were the ones that basically put Evan Afton/Chris/The crying child inside of Fredbear’s mouth, and Evan was killed by is brother Micheal Afton(Foxy mask), but they didn’t know that that was gonna happen, and it was an accident
Elizabeth was the first one dead in the family, followed by Evan, then William goes on a killing spree, William dies by spring lock malfunction, years later, Micheal dies from Ennerd who used circus baby’s voice to lore Micheal into the scooping room, then ennerd goes inside Micheal’s body to escape the pizzeria, then ennerd gets out of Michael’s body and goes in a sewer drain, magically Micheal is still alive and is a walking corpse. After all of this Micheal goes to find is father William afton and during this Henry who is Charlie’s father/ William afton’s ex coworker, traps is daughter who is the puppet, into lefty so he could set the pizzeria on fire and set her free and the rest free, William afton is Scraptrap at this time and gets stuck in the fire, and burns to death (but he survives, ofc 🙄) Micheal also gets stuck in the fire so does Elizabeth, and Charlie(Elizabeth is ScrapBaby), the three are set free and are now at peace, so is Evan Afton who joins them, I think that Henry also dies in the fire 🤔 idk….but William afton is the only one suffering now, after this Cassidy makes William suffer even more and sends William afton into “hell” and makes him go through EVERYTHING (seeing his children’s deaths again, having to survive ALL of the animatronics over and over again) like Cassidy was making him SUFFER on what he did, but then William escapes the torture, makes a cult, Vanny enters into the picture, then Security Breach and all of that, but I know WAY more but I’m not gonna continue cause this is already long enough

I went down that rabbit hole before, now I’m doing it again for a second time, I’ve gotten so deep into fnaf lore you wouldn’t understand 😟, I even talk to myself, talking about the fnaf lore and putting it all together. It’s like a puzzle, and which I’ve somewhat solved it, and the fnaf lore is basically already solved.

It’s because as the community grows we get new people who aren’t completely caught up in the lore as it is super fricken confusing so when these new people come in and see thing like “ WAS THAT THE BITE OF 87?!?” They end up putting that as their perception of the lore when it’s actually wrong

Not for long though bro. You can technically function without your frontal lobe but every action you do is based souly on impulse, meaning if you thought “Wow, I’d like to get run over by a car”, you would instantly do it. The frontal lobe is specifically for decision making, and the occipital lobe is for emotions. Since you could still process auditory information and sense of touch and plenty of other things from your temporal and parietal lobes, your frontal lobe controls EVERY ASPECT OF YOUR LIFE. Without your frontal lobe, you’d effectively be a stage 6 Alzheimer’s patient for the rest of your life.

I always consider the 87 bite to take place in FNAF 2, and to likely have been done by Mangle (jumpscare). Less likely, but possibly even Foxy.

The Bite of 83 was sad imo. From what I've heard, the crying child was Michael's younger brother (a.k.a William Afton's youngest because his daughter dead) and he was bullying him to make sure he stayed away from the animatronics since William didn't want him to die to Circus Baby or one of them (for reference, William's daughter was stubborn and was with Circus Baby alone and then got snatched up)
Not specifically to Circus Baby, but just so Crying Child didn't die in a similar way. It is also theorized that CC saw Liz die, thanks to Nightmare Fredbear's stomach mouth.
Most teens bully their younger siblings, especially when they have such a mangled family, with a dead mother and sister and a father that's all day working

the primary difference between 83 and 87 is that the victim survived the bite of 87, it just didn't have a frontal lobe. this was stated by the phone guy in the first game on the very first night.
The bite of '87 was caused by Mangle. When Mangle is in a camera, you can hear a phone call between a 911 operator and a cop, and the word "frontal lobe" can be heard. Another theory that suggests that Mangle caused the bite of '87 was that in his/her jumpscare, he/she bites the forehead of the player, where the frontal lobe is located.

Actually fnaf 4's designs make it obvious that the bite takes place before 1987, freddy's headshape match's with wither freddy and not og freddy, however since nightmare bonnie has his face, its before 1987, but also that means the crying child died in fredbear and friends and not in fredbears family diner, and that the reopening is of fredbear and friends

I've speculated fnaf lore for years and never solved it. What I can't figure out is when fnaf 5 took place. So far I've figured out that there was a pizzeria based off of the withered animatronics which aren't fnaf 1 animatronics. I figured out that william afton died way before fnaf one possibly and the posters that we see on the wall in fnaf one are from the withered animatronic pizzeria and there were children stuffed in the withered animatronics and the withered animatronics were around when fredbear was which is how the crying child saw freddy chica bonnie and foxy in his nightmares. Also william afton killed Henry's daughter in the withered animatronic pizzeria. Not sure what it's called cuz it never got a name my proof of that is the fact that freddy has buttons meaning that withered freddy is the freddy giving out cupcakes on the mini game in fnaf 2. And the nightmare animatronics have similar looks to the withered animatronics, such as chica's mouth being the size of nightmare chica's mouth. So yes the nightmare animatronics are the withered ones in nightmare form. William afton also dismantled the withered freddy in his pizzeria so that explains why the withered animatronics have such damaged bodies. You're welcome for more confusing lore theories. Bye 😁 👋

This is actually really cool and helpful but Ive gotten so into the habit of saying ‘Bite Of ‘87’ and even putting that in my drawing i dont think ill ever get it right
I can't remember exactly what it was, but the reason that date started being used as evidence was because of some major contradiction in the timeline after some of the future games. Of course, this was almost certainly originally the bite of 87, but Scott changed or just plain contradicted it after he decided to continue making fnaf games after fnaf 4

Essentially the real reason they are different bites is because Scott is stupid and he changed the lore last second
in 1987, the crying child had his birthday, but the best present he got was a chomp to the head, causing his death, we know it is 1987 because in the game files and teasers it is HEAVILY implied that this was going to be the big reveal of the bite of 87, and the hinting goes way back to the first game, where there are two dismantled animatronics, foxy and yellow bear, this is where people could say its foxy because he is out of order and has a wonky jaw, but to that I say, if such a tragic event happened, (a death seen by many with the cause of death being due to the machines being dangerous), they would completely dismantle the death machine, leading us to yellow bear, who has there working metal moving parts completely removed and hidden away in the parts and service, where they are trying to fix it on the work table in the day, which is why we see endo on the desk in our nightshift, now that means yellow bear probably caused the bite, and if you want more evidence then when you play 1987 in the custom night you get bitten by yellow bear so cmon he must have, so anyway, in fnaf 4 we see the bite and the biter is fredbear, who has a purple bowtie and hat as-well as eyes, and what do I say to that? the purple into black is due to shadows, and the eyes are on the endo still, now how do we know this wasnt another bite with the same animatronic, and well we know there was only one bite, because there is only one bite report and we can see the supposed bite of 83 has lots of witnesses, so we know there was only one, and well the only one we officially have heard of is the bite of 87, but I have more evidence, in the game files of when the 83 bite happened there are many references to 87, but I will listen to the other side, so what are they saying? There is a date of 1983 on the tv…. but that could just be coppy write and probably is. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT the only bite that happened was from yellow bear in 1987
I have the same opinion. I just think the crying child didnt die instantly because we wouldnt be able to play the nights while he is in coma. When you look at the animatronics design, you can see two rows of teeth. One white plastic row which we see as their teeth. But there is a second metal row of teeth, which of course could crush someones frontal lobe. Thats why I think fredbear never crushed the crying childs whole skull because the plastic row of teeth couldnt make it through the skull. The Phone guy also referred to this accident and the lost frontal lobe
1. Fredbears family diner was closed BEFORE 1987, and the springlock animatronics werent active at the time (golden freddy/fredbear dosent count since he wasnt for preforming along with the other springlock animatronic.)
2. Scott himself goddamn confirmed that it takes place in 1983.
3. Crying child did not survive after getting bitten, unlike the victim of the actual bite of 87. This would imply that he’s not the victim of the bite of 87 because he did not survive.
The bite of 1987 is when a victim's frontal lobe got bitten off by the Mangle.
The Fazchild being put in Fredbear's Fazmouth caused an Fazciddent!
Still another reasons that debunks the “Fredbear did the Bite of 87” thing is that on Night 5 (while Jermey Fitzgerald still was a night guard) Phone Guy mentioned that Fredbear’s Family Diner had been closed down for years, which since the one in FNaF 4 is Fredbear’s Family Diner that Fredbear did the Bite of 83, which it can’t work the other way around if Fredbear’s Family Diner had been closed down for years (and with FNaF 4 showing the Bite of 83 incident being four years prior to the Bite of 87 one), and that BV had his whole head chomped by Fredbear and later met his demise in the hospital (because of the flatline) while whoever had got bitten in the Bite of 87 incident not only survived, but also lost their own frontal lobe.
The bite of 87 happened on the sixth day of FNAF 2 when they closed Freddy fazbears down

Im pretty sure what happened but i don't know for sure. Micheal and his friends put him in golden freddy's mouth to get his fear over the animatronics after what happened to Elizabeth. When the animatronics have water on them or are moving fast, the springlocks activate.But when his head was in freddy's mouth, there was a leak in the ceiling and the springlocks activated.
Springlocks can’t close if they are already closed.

One man almost changed the lore
If you guys don’t know what the bite of 87 is basically I think someone was fixing mangle and repairing it and I think mangle got anxious? So his skull was crushed also I think mangle isn’t a child bc they said 5 children were killed so mangle doesn’t have a soul so she’s just a roaming robot with an unknown reason and my theory is that mangle is not a child so I’m thinking she broke out of her program like toy Bonnie toy Freddy and toy chica so not much information has given about mangle

Makes sense because the minigames of Fnaf 4 had Fredbear's Family Dinner as the games restaurant location, the location that the Phone Guy recorded as "closed down for several years" in one of the night phases phone call in Fnaf 2 and we know Fnaf 2 is set in 1987.

The Bite of '83 was an important but terrifying event that took place within the year 1983 in Five Night's at Freddy's 4, being one of the first events in the series chronologically. In order to get it, the player have to complete the Night 5, where Fredbear would attack Evan Afton/Crying Child during dawn (3AM-5AM). It shows a scene where the Crying Child gets laughed at by older youngsters and his old brother Michael Afton wanting to "scare" him. Michael's gang make the Crying Child get close to FredBear and gets his head into Fredbear's mouth.
Fredbear's mouth would shut on The Crying Child's head, killing him once and for all. They are many fan depictions of what happening during the event (i.e comics and SFM animations).
