For everyone complaining about the price, read this. The problem with most other similar products (anker included) is that they use monocrystalline panels. In direct sunlight they are awesome. In anything less than that, they suck. Yes they are cheaper, but what good is a panel if you cant hike through the woods on a sunny day and get more than .4 amps from it? Powerfilms are expensive, but they are without a doubt the BEST. I have an anker 21w charger (21w is a lie since its limited to 3A total output. 5V X 3A is 15W). If I cover the corner of ONE of the six panels with my fingers, the overall output is at least cut in half, possibly more. Less than 2 square inches of shade completely handicaps the entire product. That is why Powerfilm is the best money you can spend for a solar charger.
Besides performing better in the shade amorphous panels are also way more resistant to damage. You can shoot a hole in these and the other 99% of the panel will still function normally and since it is foldable it will simply bend instead of breaking, crystalline won’t survive that. These panels are defintly worth their price!
Someone commented that Canadian Prepper already did a review on this product. I had to set that person straight. I'm most definitely sure that Canadian Prepper was using sunlight from Canada. Where this American was probably using sunlight from America. I advised the other commenter to not leave out little details like that when comparing two very well-respected prepper icons.
ditch the flashlight, replace the power meter with a numeric percentage (example 1%-100%) LED. If its half charged I would like to see a led that reads 50%. attachment points at the battery end would be nice to tie to the bottom of a backpack.
I was thinking of getting one of these Lightsaver MAX's to charge my portable ecoflow river 600 solar generator with. The key value of this device for me, is it has a 12 Volt DC output, which is extremely useful in remote areas. Unfortunately, you have failed to mention the unit's maximum amperage output @12 Volts DC, so I could calculate the total Watts of charging power I can expect for the Lightsaver MAX.🤔🤔🤔
Ben you really do great reviews. At this price point it should be perfect not being water proof is a killer IMO. Mor attach points for a backpack and as one of the other commenters said ditch the flashlight and use a digital charge indicator. Version 2 or 3 should be about right to get it right. For now it’s a pass.
Seems the form needs a little work to make it waterproof. How is the performance though? Meaning how long does it take to charge the internal battery via solar?
To me way overpriced. You can get two of their 13 W panels plus an Anker power bank for much less. This at $200 would be reasonable. This at MSRP of $399.99 no sale
Hi there. Really loving this chanel! I am new to bushcraft and am about to invest in my first bushcraft knife. My price range would be $50-$80 CAD. Currently checking out the Condor Bushlore and have seen mixed reviews. Wondering if you/anyone could speak to the quality of the Bushlore. And if you might recommend it over other knives, say the Mora Bushcraft Black (which I watched reviewed on this chanel) or other Mora's for that matter. Any help finding a long lasting reliable bucraft knife would be great. Thanks!
I'm not sure it's fair comparing it to anything Goal Zero has. It doesn't look like GZ offers anything portable that will output 12V at 5A peak. If your goal is to power a ham radio the Powerfilm wins. If I'm missing something please reply with a link!
very cool...way out of my price range, but cool. You need to make some living survival shirts , with your forum website on the back..and some velcro patches...
Dude, you do a great review. I know there's a lot of people that have said that, but I really noticed in this vid. You know your shit. A bit pricey on this but its awesome except for all your negatives.
Hey Ben what's your thoughts now on this device I wanna get a powerfilm panel not sure which one?? I have a bunch of battery banks anker, thrunite just wanna get one and done!! Ideally for a bug out bag Basecamp kinda situation
@@livingsurvival hey thanks for the speedy response like always brotha I'm debating between a 20 or 30 watt or maybe this not sure yet 🤔 haha take care buddy!!(=✌💚
Nice review BUT 2:00 for 339 dollars on Amazon there shouldn't be any issues that need cleaned up. With that price tag I understand why they make shit for the military
I see a lot of people complaining about the price but you have to remember it’s made in the USA so that’s why it’s so expensive wait until it’s copied by China and it will be so much less. For me I don’t mind where it’s from just as long as it’s cheaper but works just as well
I'm just really tired of the USB "standard" changing every few years so that new gadgets wont charge my old (perfectly functional) gadgets without a fucking adapter ...

Great perspective...thanks

Nice to see these portable solar chargers are getting better. Hopefully they will get cheaper in the next few years.
Great review sorry I missed this
thanks my friend.

I like to see a critical review. Thanks!
As always, another excellent review from Living Survival. Much appreciated 👊

Pros recap @6:10
Cons recap @6:50
Neat, will probably have to wait for some years before something like this is accessible price-wise to the average person

With that price I do wish it had more waterproof features, but I do like it...
that's an awesome product. I use Goal Zero, myself. this is a bit pricey, but it has a ton of cool features. great review! ATB - Michael
Light saver = Space saver ❤️it !

Great Review! Thanks for sharing!
Lmao the shirt. A Smile More Roman Atwood Parody. Where's it from?

I was thinking it might be $120. I mean I could just get an Anker solar panel for $60.
400 beans for that!!!!
You know what else is $399.99? Felix's chair.
what is the life of the battery? with exposure to heat? Lithium battery in general greatly reduce their life expand when constantly expose to heat.
Thanks for the review, what kinda backpack is that you’re wearing at 0:53 ??
Sabra mono 48
Great detailed review!

Morakniv Companion. If someone is just starting out, it's under $10. Learn the skills and then trade up if you stick with it.

Great review. Add another for the condom in the survival kit... use it as waterproofing the ends.
HELLO, What is the power of this solar panel? for example 15 watts, 20 watts. I'm not talking about the power bank. best regards

Yes, still a great product. Ability to put it down the side of a pack or in the water bottle pocket.

Big thumbs up, boss!
Canadian Prepper already did a review on this
Shadowtechnik lol can't have multiple opinions?
Yes he did...but he was using CANADIAN sun. AMERICAN sun is so much better. Don't leave out THOSE details
Nice review BUT 2:00 for 339 dollars on Amazon there shouldn't be any issues that need cleaned up. With that price tag I understand why they make shit for the military
Very nice but I think I need to stay under a $100.00. Love the review though!
the only to get this is if absolutely need to carry it on a pack while walking, otherwise the foldable types are better and cheaper
Cheaper maybe, nowhere near better.
What they could do for consumer use. ...LOWER THE PRICE !!! GEEZ.

Priced to high for the customer that would actually benefit or use this,
I'm just really tired of the USB "standard" changing every few years so that new gadgets wont charge my old (perfectly functional) gadgets without a fucking adapter ...
Holy expensive...
"Semi water resistant"
It’s nice but not even for me way to much money for that, stick with Anker
i will stick with my goal zero........
Too much money,
First
hahahahaha!!! 400? really?
Wayyy overpriced for what it is. You can get better solar cells for a fourth of the price all over amazon. I recommend the Anker brand solar cells.
