To get across the bridge you can either jump it with Epona or hookshot across.
＊Gerudo's Fortress＊
The Gerudo Thieves are a bit of a pain mostly due to their lunge attack that ends in you being arrested. The easiest way to beat them is to use the Biggoron's Sword (to see how to get it see the video linked below). The Biggoron's Sword does twice the damage and has better reach than the Master Sword, but there is some risk in using it because you can't block and so will be arrested if they successfully hit you with their knockdown attack.
If you're using the Biggoron's Sword then Z-lock the thieves and swing at them often (roughly 1 - 2 swings a second, but don't spam your swinging as fast as you can). Make sure to keep moving toward them to keep the distance between you and them small. If the thieves go up an incline then DO NOT follow them. Back off into the center of the room so that they follow. They like to do their knockdown attack when they're on an incline. If at any point they try to do their knockdown attack then backflip out of the way immediately.
If you are using the Master Sword to defeat them then Z-lock and swing at them often. You'll have to be closer to them than with the Biggoron's Sword because of the shorter reach. If they try to do their lunge attack then hold up your shield to block them.
With either sword if you successfully dodge their lunge attack then immediately follow it with a jump attack of your own as it does more damage.
After rescuing all the 4 carpenters, Aveil give will give you the Gerudo Membership Card allowing you to walk amongst the Gerudo without fear of being arrested. Note: In the N64 cartridge version of OoT, the color of Aveil's clothes and lipstick match the color of Link's Tunic. In all subsequent versions her clothes are always red.

I also was missing just the 3rd one, I swore I already checked that side haha. I believe I watched this video over a decade ago and was surprised you could shot them with an arrow. I might have thought it did nothing from missing them once, so I was only hookshot stunning them until I saw this haha.

I have been playing this game for yearsssssss, and I always knew you could freeze the Guards, but not knock them out until 20 minutes ago lmao, but god dam I can’t for the life of me find that 3rd Carpenter, I hate having to look at vids, but I could have sworn I did literally everything, and thought I had already gone through that door, apparently not lol
Im an actual idiot. I came here after an hour of running around and I hate cheating so I never did up until now. Come to find out I just didn't talk to the first guy I freed to get the cutscene where he runs out.

biggoron sword is the best way to kill the thieves
I replayed the game to test out how the Biggoron's Sword does against the Gerudo and it does make their fights easier. I figured it would have been a poor choice because even though it does more damage and has better reach it can't guard against their knockdown attack. During my testing they rarely attempted to do that attack, though, so it seems it may be worth the trade off. In light of this I'll change the description to mention the Biggoron's Sword. Thanks for the suggestion!

I use the hookshot to stun them, then attack them with Biggoron's sword. That sword does more damage and I never found the Master Sword that useful in the main game. I only use that sword against Ganon in the game's final battle.
@@EmptyGarbageCan I used 3 jump slashes and they can't block it. Only three hits and they are dead. I only always take half of heart of damage this way.

Oh yeah, that too, I personally was like "I don't want to shoot at them! They could be friendly!" but yeah, if they can spot you from across the yard hiding behind a crate, you'd think they'd totally spot you for shooting at them with a bow and arrow (I'd like to think that because it's a fairy bow [and because I saw sparkles coming out of the arrow after I shot them with it] that it just made them unconscious ehehe)
@@HanakoFairhall I'm pretty sure it does make them unconscious. If I recall correctly, if you wait a while after shooting them they get back up.

I had a lot more patience for this as a kid. The architect all looking exactly the same is just annoying today despite still loving the game overall.
To be fair, it is a fortress and making it confusing to navigate would actually be a decent tactic. I agree about having more patience as a kid though. There are so many things in games that I played as a kid that irk me now, but didn't back then. I think because the experiences were novel and exciting as a kid so I didn't mind it, but after years of playing games novel experiences are harder to come by and now I'm just stuck with the annoying.
GameCube is better than N64 and VC.
The buttons are adapted, the resolution is increased to 480p, comes with Master Quest, and Stone of Agony works

play the 3DS version.
unless ur really a stickler for tiny changes (majoras mask had bigger changes, oot had very minor and unnoticeable ones) the 3DS version is he definitive version.

Blank Blank Relitively yeah. Though, I’m pretty sure the GameCube version is more buggy. That might just be for MM though.
Echo My Eggo Majoras Mask is the shitty one, with audio lag, FPS issues, and crashes galore. It’s slightly better on Wii VC but you’d rather just use AngryLion’s RDP plugin or MM3D with the mod that revert lots of things to the N64 gameplay like the magic draining for Zora Swimming or the Ice Arrows.

how do you get the horse across?
Epona is pretty finicky. Start walking toward the bridge while making sure you're as straight as possible. When you start going down the slope is when you want to start running. It's much easier to just use the Hookshot on the sign thing that is hanging on the rope connected to the 2 large posts on either side of the bridge. If you have the Hookshot then I suggest doing that, instead.

Yup. If I recall correctly you can also use the Long/Hookshot as well, but I think they pull you toward them which could alert another guard if she's nearby so using an arrow is safer.

So you talked to the carpenter, but she didn't appear afterward? I've never had that happen so I don't know what will definitely help you. Try leaving the area, returning, & talking to the carpenter again. Also try to get the other carpenters & see what happens. You could try turning the game off & back on. Or you could try getting arrested & see if that fixes anything.

@@zoiuduu Yes, saving the carpenters is necessary. You can't continue with the main story without freeing them.
