FCAS Meeting 11/`14/24 Nick Komar: “A Big Year in the USA and Its Territories”

Nicholas (Nick) Komar, recipient of the Colorado Field Ornithologist 2024 Director's Award, will share with us his 2023 adventure, experiences and conservation challenges in Territories visited of “A Big Year in the USA and Its Territories.”
He served as the Colorado Field Ornithologist president 2019-2023. Nick Komar's motto is “work hard-play hard.” Though retired from his 25-year career as a biologist with the Center of Disease Control, Nick continues to work as a birding guide and tour leader through his ecotourism company Quetzal Tours. He is working on a book describing his 2023 Big Year that he hopes to finish the end of 2024. Play time includes birding recreationally every day, as well as hiking, biking and playing sports with family and friends.
